Gamers like cachy because they're told the optimizations it comes with will make their games run a lot better than on windows, even if the actual performance gains on gaming are single digit tier at best. The fact it's arch, just like steamOS, probably helps with the shilling.
At least it brings more to the table with the kernel/package optimizations (even if they're really just worthwhile for better general system responsiveness than anything else) which is something. Though you can just use its repos on regular arch anyway, so you don't have to actually install it.

I use the cachyos kernel and repos with arch because its the new hot thing and I am happy with it, I cant wait to see what the next new hot thing is because the cachy repo is very handy it has a lot of packages I usually get from the aur which is a bit of a timesave since I updoot daily.
