talk me out of X8, i was actually eyeing x7 pro/f7 before, but waited for this as it has a smaller screen and now i can't decide whenever or not should i go for pro max instead.the release sale looks good and i can trade-in my old 2019 xiaomishit for twice of what i would get on used market. so i'm eyeing>x8 pro 8/256 or 12/512>x8 pro max 12/256realistically i don't play gaymez so 8/256 should be fine, but i'll keep it for 5+ so i might as well pay some extra for a small upgrade, but then pro max is another small price bump away. extremely annoying that x8 pro doesn't have 12/256 version.

On the same camera hardware, the Pixel Camera app has lot of processing and HDR stuff vs OpenCamera, which in turn has more processing than the default GrapheneOS camera app which has very minimal processing.

Looking to buy a non-slabshit phone (diagonal screen size <6.2 in), and I am getting demoralized. >Pixel 3(a)>Pixel 4(a), 5(G)>Sony Xperia XA2, XZ2 compactThese are all the viable models I found supported by LineageOS that aren't *that* old. I will NOT pay the compact tax for a modern phone with a sane form factor. The issues with the Xperia models, and the 3a I'd assume, are that they're relatively old, and overheat at times from what I've read. The 4a got an update that fucked with the battery because FUCK YOU, and also because it had a risk of blowing up. Not considering LineageOS, the 5G is old, and no longer receiving security updates, which would obviously affect all the other phones in that list. My question then is, how long can I expect LineageOS support for a particular phone? Aside from (((banking apps))) throwing a fit, on it, anything else I should know about using LineageOS? At this point, I think I'd be better off buying a flip phone and just using it to make calls--either a Japanese one, or an actual dumb phone; not a (((feature phone))). Buying any in the aforementioned list would be a waste of money, right? I'm better off doing anything I might find myself doing on a phone, on an actual computer. The only issue with flip phones is that I've heard they often shit themselves; the call quality is terrible, and they're just KaiOS pieces of shit in general. Are there any that aren't?
