Yup they had already let people know since last year they would go full wayland for 50.

Only works up to 49, there's nothing TO re-enable in 50.
You lost, it's time to move on.

won't work anymore. It's not just disabled, they removed all of the backend code related to X.

Seems to have a lot of improvements in the relevant pain point areas.
>improving file manager speed and performance, thumbnailing, search
>better vrr, hdr, fractional scaling, frame timing, color management
>improved remote desktop
Too bad it's still gnome.

Honestly looks like a great update, I just hope there's enough beta testers on arch, openSUSE, gentoo, etc. that will test out the release thoroughly before it comes to professional distros like Fedora in mid april.

I'm still using X11 and have no reason to stop using it.
Nothing personnel, but good luck!

They actually got VRR fixed from what I've tested
But from what I've also tested SDR colors with HDR toggled on look really dull. Like I set the sRGB intensity slider to 0%. A shame because HDR actually works pretty well.
Oh well. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to release on arch.
>>
>>108403011
if you are really insistent on using xorg, you could just open a window manager and the software inside it, it works i think (at least running a compositor over a compositor works on wayland, pretty sure it works on x too)
