As you know, the free internet is about to end in approximately 2 weeks. What massive data sets, software collections and books need to be backed up? You do have a plan, right?
>>108402284i create my own media
>>108402284i generate my own media with AI. you did invest in GPUs and RAM before the price hikes, right?
>>108402284once they ruin it completely I will do as they say, and go touch grass
>>108402398I hardware maxxed, but need to make sure I have enough knowledge backed up. I should have enough math and physics stored to last me 100 lifetimes.
Dunno man things seem pretty good on my end>WoW server still up>Dad forum still up>piracy sites still upplus all the mainstream and other archibe sites. I literally dont see ai apart from here chatgpt and google
>>108402284I have enough media to last me for the rest of my days desu. There isn't enough time for me to fully enjoy everything on my hard drives.
Tech literate people will not have any problems regarding data availability. The people who will be affected are (zoomer) normies who willfully walk into walled gardens. The actual risk factor for people like us is powerful governments coming down hard on "hate speech" and killing forums like these to protect our democracy. I'm not sure we could survive all being forced to the dark net.
How can I get that book set torrent that every ai company used too train on?

>the free internetWhat website specifically is going away that I should give a shit about?
>>108402284I would at least download a chunk of project gutenberg if I weren't so lazy.
>>108402284I've created a huge spreadsheet with magnet links. Still working on adding some stuff, but (most) of the games I'd ever want to play are already on it. Currently in the process of downloading it all to my NAS.
>>108404333Is there a torrent with English epubs only? I don't care if they're free or pirated. I just want a large collection of epubs only and only in English. No dupes, no clutter, no extra useless garbage.
>>108404803It probably exists, or grab it from internet archivehttps://archive.org/details/gutenbergThey even have a download tool you can use and feed in searches to pick out languages and file formats. A while back I used this to grab all of the Russian Mir books.
>>108402284use case for hoarding digital trash? 69000 ebooks which you'll never read? 20 TB of movies you won't watch?
>>108404885Delusional anons think they will become shadow brokers when >le internet endsand people will offer gold and virginal pussy in exchange for a few movies
>>108404914Who knows. I wouldn't discount any possibility in this fucked up world. But I personally dream of starting a club of archivists that would pool all their data together and share stuff with each other.
>>108404933Or even a whole order. Like the brotherhood of steel in fallout. With a mission to hoard and preserve as much data and tech as possible.
>>108404885This is a white man's thread, Tyrone. >>108404944I want to do this, but for mathematics, like the Pythagoreans.
>>108402284this is what i hoard>movies>tv shows>music>porn>some games>books>apt mirror>offline maps>LLMs>kiwix files>offline translationmaybe i forgot something
>>108404914One day you won't even have a compiler, and you're going to be begging to suck dicks in a back-alley for GCC.
>>108402284I'm thinking of torrenting porn again, since all the sites I used to visit now require age verification in Australia.
>>108405029Well you also have simpcity/bunkr, and then use some bulk downloading tool.
>>108405029Meh. I refuse to believe all the porn sites in the world comply with this BS. There are plenty of Russian porn sites that couldn't give a rat's ass about Australian or burger or EU laws. This shit is unenforceable, unless it's done on the ISP's end, and I don't think even that can be done if you use a custom DNS. Politicians are techlet retards.
>>108402284Memes I find on discord.
>>108404984no for me it would be the python interpreter
>>108405029why not use a vpn?
>>108402284I don't have my storage just yet. What's happening in 2 weeks?
>>108405029Stop being a degenerate gooner. Not only is it bad for you, but you will also get datamined now while doing it.

>>108402284>the free internet is about to end in approximately 2 weeks. How many two weeks until the two weeks?
>>108402284I don't go out of my way to save and hoard massive collections of shit I couldn't realistically care less about. I just grab stuff I see and think is cool. I have a bunch of wallpapers and random images I liked saved in highest quality I could find and renamed to be the links of the image source. I also save some pretty low size 1080p movies/tv shows I like watching or rewatching from QxR or edge2020, and I save gog offline installers of vidya I like playing/replaying, got a pretty big collection of music albums from tidal too, but alltogether it's less than 1.5TB of space with my OS and programs included. I think internet will never really end, and most popular shit will always remain accessible, it's just the more niche shit that can disappear, like saving some cute egirls pic that she's likely to delete in 5 years when she's ashamed of her past self and wants to disassociate from her old identity so she goes on a scourge to wipe everything from the internet. But shit like LOTR trilogy of films, Metallica albums, Witcher trilogy of vidya, imo that will forever be available on the net one way or another, so I don't really have any stress about hoarding, I just download stuff I want at the moment and keep it since my internet is slow as fuck in small town east europe and I cba redownloading.
>>108402284uTorrent and DVDs>>108404200anything good in there?
>>108404971any good local LLMs?
>>108405718Piracy is going to die eventually. Zoomers are useless and don't care enough about it to keep it alive after all the boomers are dead. And that's just one reason why it might die. Another reason is that the Jews want to restrict the internet as much as they can, because goycattle talks about stuff like Epstein a bit too much for their liking. Expect the internet to become a highly overregulared, highly monitored space in the next few months.
>>108402398synthetic data is the worst. I create all my own data with my mind and my hands. And I dont feed it to Sam except here on /g/.

Is there anything to worry about when archiving beyond size? Or is it enough to just get some 20TB whatever and start filling it up? Archivefags, help me out here.

>>108405761Fill 'er up, m'lady.
>>108405732I am using GPT4ALL, they have some leightweigt models
>>108405761I have a PC two mini PCs with a bunch of files, and then a NAS with 4 10TB drives (only 20TB active memory with RAID 6) to back up all of my shit from all the other devices. And I'm also making back ups on bluray discs of the most important stuff (roughly 1TB in total). Don't really give a shit about keeping data offsite.

Have to get a copy of the new advent Catholic encyclopedia site, need to get a few more manuals for stuff like tractors etcIf you have not considered it get yourself a haul of wargames, rpgs, call of cthuhlu, d&d etc books and modules, some more books on model trains etc. I have prepper library style stuff coming out my ears because it is so common though. >>108403548>Tech literate people will not have any problems regarding data availabilityOh you think that do you? VMware is the greatest piece of software ever made, next to compilers. You can use it to run old OSs, and those old OSs can run old software. You'd say we'll all that shits obsolete, and I'd agree to a certain extent, but you can get software from before the subscription era. You don't even need to risk using warez, simply install the trials and nuke the vm once the period is up, just don't forget to save your files outside, then you can setup another vm and game the timer for another month or whatever. You could simply keep a reference vm saved somewhere that you clone once you decide to delete the old one and start over.
