I can't believe this is actually better than what we have now.
im currently running win11, openbsd, and void linux and dont have a single issue with any of them. why does this board kvetch about this kind of shit constantly.
>>108404334Works on my machine, I don't get why people update to win11
>>108404340Because planned obsolescence triggers poor people. As it should.
>>108404346It runs worse than 10. I have to use both.
>>108404340>my dystopian spyware just werks, guys! That shit doesn't work here anymore, bugman
At least I could place the taskbar on the side without a plugin. I still don't get the reasoning behind that.
>>108404334There's like 100 processes running, all from microsoft. Back in windows 7 it was like 15, in xp it was like 5. Now that support has ended windows keeps fucking around with my folder settings. It's legit malware at this point.
>>108404334you're just a Microslop babby. the choice is yours
>>1084047270.0001% of Windows users want to move the taskbar, so its deemed an unecessary feature and removed from development.
>>108404334I'm not running a bitlocker on my hardware so once Windows 10 becomes completely defunct I'll just browse the net through a linux VM.
>>108404334>Lemme just meticulously organize my live tiles
>>108405848Lol. Not once did I click on a live tile in the years I was using WIndows 10.
>>108405848in windows 8.1 i actually spent time setting custom icons and arranging my tiles and my start menu looked sick. picrel isn't mine but similar enough, i liked the wider tiles.i am the 1% that actually bothered i think
>>108405871I did the same when I was younger and autistic enough to care. I only switched from 7 to 10 because I liked the live tiles and the flat, futuristic, utilitarian design of 10.
>>108404334What was wrong with 10, exactly?
This felt like the peak. I was just graduating in CS, had just picked up .NET/C# as my language and stack of choice and was loving it. Win10 was generally pleasant to work with. I had full faith/confidence in Microsoft.
>>108404334remove the search barremove the "task view" iconunpin apps pinned by default except explorerlock the taskbar (sharif don't like it)switch to small taskbar iconschange from always compact to compact only when running out of spacechange start menu to start screenremove default tiles (maybe keep the weather one) and add your ownperfection
>>108405527That's dumb, they're wasting precious vertical screen space by not doing it.Move your fucking taskbar to the side right now.

>>108404334Been using W11 Pro since 23H2, used RUFUS to disable the pre-requisites, then used GPEdit.msc & Services.msc to configure it properly, the whole thing took around 30 minutes.Haven't had a singular issue using it since that, even 24H2 and now 25H2. All of the issues that were posted here on on Reddit have not been happening on mine nor my friends PCs.Yes it is coded in AI slop, yes it has shit on it, but all of it is fixable within 30 minutes, if you can spend an hour ricing and configuring your GNU/+Linux Distro then there should be no issues for you on Windows 11.All of the big issues are spammed/posted by people that bypass requirements such as TPM 2.0 & SecureBoot, I get PCs like this at my local shop all the times, and 99.99% they have Windows 11 installed on unsuported hardware.Call me a shill or a jeet all you want, it won't change facts, it also won't change the fact that I don't even use Windows as a main OS. But you simply cannot pretend that Windows 10, 8.1 or 7 were better, because Windows as a whole is not a good OS in general compared to macOS and a lot of GNU/+Linux Distros. They are all the same shit with a different paintjob.

Don't worry. It's gonna get worse.
