>Exclusive: Intel to unveil Arc Pro B70 and B65 “Big Battlemage” cards on March 25, specs confirmedhttps://videocardz.com/newz/exclusive-intel-to-unveil-arc-pro-b70-and-b65-bmg-g31-cards-on-march-25-specs-confirmedreportedly, both will have 32gb of gddr6. I'd prefer gddr7, but 32gb gddr6 is also what AMD put in the r9700, and Intel is primarily targeting AMD (AMD has abandoned the top of the line).Price not confirmed. the r9700 has gone up in price from launch, and is now $1500 retail. I'm sure sapphire would claim the upgraded fan is worth it or whatever.
I don't really care, if I want to dump $1200 on a gpu there are better options than a glorified igpu, intel should focus on the budget range
>>108411360It's afraid.
Intel = behind by a decade
>>108411362I think so too. It all depends on price. The 3090 only has 24gb of vram, and its tops is about the same as the b70 is expected to be at (apparently ptops adds some intel cpu to the tops total, but it's like 50 to subtract to get tops)
>>108411395hol up why the fuck is that a case?????
>>108411395don't tell that to retards here, they're under the impression that all gpus support all games just by virtue of directx existing
>>108411395The "AAA" game in question.Yes, I won't be getting it. I like (real) castles.
>>108411421Intel drivers don't implement certain parts of the DirectX specification because their GPU doesn't support those features. What usually happens is a month down the line you get a driver update that hacks in support, and by support I mean they accept the commands so the program doesn't crash but they either emulate the functionality in software or ignore it entirely so you end up with games that look bad/broken but at least run.
>>108411420>>108411362fwiw the rx r9700 hits 1500 tops.Obviously it's superior, but we always can only compare prices at retail, the real reality, and prices change fast sometimes. At $1500 (retail), the b70 isn't competitive. But, it's definitely competitive at $800 (the used price of the 3090). You can get a used 32gb variant (the 16gb one is less than half) amd mi50 for $600, but it's obviously slower (a mere 50 tops!).
Are there GPUs with getting for anything constructive or entertaining?
>>108411447>intel is patching out trash featuresok, I'm sitting up and paying attention.
>>108411465gpus are testosterone are terrorism. All a woman needs is a microwave, a roomba, and a netflix sub.
>>108411447What parts dont they support?
>>108411538So actually it turns out that the problem is the indians at Microsoft who wrecked directx. DirectX 12 allows non-standard instructions. It's literally just that lolif they had white people writing directx 12, then we'd have what directx is supposed to be - a wrapper. And it would at least work with Intel Arc, if we also assume that the devs in korea weren't glitching the cards to get nonstandard behavior, which again, they're asians, not a white race, so yeah you get basically about what you expect there.
>>108411570What do you mean non-standard instructions? I'm not getting it, in my mind directx is a wrapper like you said so would non standard be targeting certsin cards or what?
>>108411656I'm not really much of a coder. apparently dx12 is a major departure in terms of ethos.
>>108411349I'm so mad the prices shot up before Intel could deliver this stuff. They already showed having 16gb was cheap to do. 32gb in an inexpensive card would be great for local inference stuff
>>108411677>local>intellol
>>108411570We need more DEI. Deport Every Indian.
>>108411374considering they're just dipping their toes back into the gpu market after 15+ years of abandoning, i think they're doing fine. plus they have new fabs being built in the US, they have a long term vision, they just need a little time.
>>108411682You know nothing.
>>108411689the MS indians don't really work in the US, they're up in Canada or eurotrash places like Ireland
