fun fact: white leds emit white light the same way fluorescent tube lights do. they're actually blue or UV leds (fluorescent tubes emit UV internally) which have a phosphor coating on them which turns some of that energy into lower frequencies (blue/uv being the highest frequencies we can see, the lower frequencies include green and red)this is also why white leds have two distinctive peaks in spectrograms and while blue is so prominent
