Chances of a few external hard drives surviving in a checked bag? I can't take them on my carry on or personal item cause they're already full. Losing the data wouldn't be the end of the world but I'd rather that not happening obviouslyI'm wrapping them in a lot of bubble wrap and clothes, fingers crossed
>>108416047If it were me I'd ship the drives instead in a well packed box to wherever I'm going.
Hard drives? What year is this?
>>1084165752026, the year where it makes zero sense to use ssds for archival storage where speed isn't a priority and storage space/cost is.the fact that ssds have potential retention issues for long term cold storage also doesn't help
>>108416047hard drives aren't that fragile when not in active use, the heads are safely parked.>Losing the data wouldn't be the end of the world but I'd rather that not happening obviouslythere's no reason this would result in data loss, do you not have backups? in that case, you're a complete retard and could lose your data at any time no matter if it's in a bag or sitting untouched.
