Shouldn't AI turn 10x developers into 1000x developers?
>>
If you can make a hello world website in 1 minute with AI that would take a normal dev 10 minutes, then yes
10x x10 = 1000
>>
do i become 10000x developer if i use 10 agents at once?
>>
>>108416174
no, it turns 3 american coders into one decent coder.
>>
>>108416174
If i gave the worlds strongest man a shotgun and gave you a shotgun who could shoot the gun harder?
Its not really a multiplier its a flat add on.

What would a 1488X developer be like?
>>
When you use AI it's much harder to use any of your other skills. If you still tightly control it, you have to slow the AI down, if you run AI with full speed and multiple agents, there is little room for human intervention.
>>
>>108416174
My manager unironically called me an AI 10x dev
I just use it a lot for boilerplate and unit tests and processing logs for debugging purposes
>>
I saw someone say that AI has a squaring effect. So if you're a 2x dev you become a 4x dev, but if you're a 0.5x dev you become a 0.25 dev.
>>
>>108416174
It turns 1000 developers into 1 CEO. You ask AI the most effective ways to fire your staff with the least possible backlash.
Ugly, but that's how they do it.
>>
>>108416335
Ugly
>>
>>108416174
If you write code 100x faster it still needs to be reviewed at normal speeds.
>>108416361
The intervention is in the context you feed it through mcp servers and other documentation.

Yes, there are some ways to improve AI performance but it's a different skill set than normal programming and it's also much easier.
It takes years to get good at programming, while it really shouldn't take long to get good at using AI. I think the skill gap will become even lower. When the harnesses improve and the large companies figure out which mcps and other plugins actually improve the agent performance they will all be shipped by default. At that point you will probably only need to give the AI some business context and it will write docs itself (it can already do that but not always reliably) anything else will just slow it down.
>>
>>108416174
Yes and it makes average devs almost worthless. There is only room for the top 10% now. Any company outsourcing to jeets now is just pissing away money.
>>
>>108416263
wrong analogy, developers who are good at developing will do better and faster developing with AI tools
what a better analogy is 2 gun slingers in wild west, one is good/accurate/fast and other is sloppy
now a new gun comes on the market that has red dot laser, holographic sights, is automatic and has magazine the size of your life savings
yea, the sloppy fella might hit the target here and there but the accurate/fast gunslinger will make it almost every time
>>
>>108416263
If you give a sluggish and weak man a shotgun, he would be too lazy to use it or would shoot only a few times before being exhausted from the recoil and holding the gun. If you give an industrious and strong man a shotgun, he would be able to shoot with it for hours without breaking a sweat.

can someone give me examples of people who became their own boss, or started a business that became successful over time, by using LLMs? no, I don't mean selling """AI""" or AI-related stuff, I mean building actual useful & succesful products
>>
>>108417188
Anybody can slop out some code. Only actual engineers know what the fuck they're looking at to know when the AI slopped out something wrong or dangerous. Project managers *could write complete documentation with complete acceptance criteria and sequence diagrams but we all know none of these niggers even know what any of that shit is and just took a scrum master course. Job is safu.
>>
>>108417591
Doesn't exist. Really makes you think.
>>
>>108416377
But are you doing it 10 times faster?!
>>
>>108416335
a 6000000x developer
>>
If you have to tardwrangle an AI to do even the most basic of shit just to have to vet it and fix it anyway, you're gonna turn from a 10x dev to a 0.1x dev.
>>
>>108418751
No, I use it so I can be lazier
It just shows up on the AI usage metrics tool
>>
>>108416174
AI turns code into 1000x slop.
