What difference does that even make to you? Lintards are throwing a fit that systemd is adding age-verification, and they treat it like the end of the world. Well, if it's le-opensource, it should be easy to just fix. Of course the problem is that most people wont/cant fix their OS anyways, even with the source available.

That's great and all, but when's Windows getting better audio latency? It's awful compared to Linux, it's so bad it's downright embarrassing.

Honestly, you're kinda right. It's the horrible shit added to Windows over the years and the constant backdooring that made people desire that more and more. Gain enough trust and make a product worth a shit and only a few autists are gonna ask for the source code. Problem is as it is, Microsoft is one of the least trustworthy corporations in the planet. Good fucking luck with that one.

Respected All Members of /g/ Forum,

Myself wanting to share one very Positive Experience regarding recent Windows 11 Inside Product update released by this Microsoft organization under guidance of Pavan Duvaluri Sir. After using same for some time, I am feeling it is only correct to put some Appreciations in Public Domain so others can also take note accordingly.

Frankly speaking, the way they have done the Needful in this Update is very much Impressive. Many Features have been improved, Performance is now very Fast, and overall User Experience is coming in very Smooth manner without any unnecessary Disturbances as earlier was happening constantly..

I am especially noticing that System Stability and Responsiveness has been increased in quite Significant way, which is clearly showing that proper Analysis and Hard Workings has been done from their Side before releasing into Production Environment. Such type of Commitment is not easily coming these days.

From Customer point of view, this kind of Proactive Enhancement is building Strong Trust and giving Confidence that Organization is taking Feedback seriously and doing the Needful on Priority Basis only.

Big Appreciations to all Concerned Teams working Behind the Scene for making this possible with their Continuous Efforts and Late Night Workings. Because of this, product is now standing in much better Position compared to previous State.

If anyone has not yet tried the latest Update, kindly do the Needful and check once. You will be understanding the Improvement immediately only.

Thanks and Regards,
One Very Satisfied User

Most open source code isn't read by anyone except the original author. Also what makes you think the most talented developers are wasting their time auditing FOSS? They're writing quant algorithms or sitting in some facility in Siberia writing control systems for guided missiles.

I'm sure you're super smart, have you been auditing linux lately?

I have no hopes this time, Windows 11 is the most shat on, jeeted up piece of software I've ever had the displeasure of using. I shouldn't have to hunt down hardware drivers and then install them before it does in the year of our lord 2000+26 so cow shit eaters can't fucked it up (and you're not even safe after this either, they can does it later anyways with updates), it's trash in latency and 0.1% lows compared to 10 (easily verified right now if you want to by running 20-30 minutes of latencymon on both 10 22H2 and 11 25H2). Just use the final build of 22H2 if you need something from it, even security updates are vibe-coded slops these days

I'll still use Windows on my desktop but I already wiped W11 from my laptop and went Linux for performance reasons. Windows is just incompatible with $150 craptops that you just want to do basic shit and run a browser on. Don't get me started on my aunt that got an HP Stream laptop that comes with 64 GB and the thing literally stopped working in two years because Windows takes more space than that. The new Macbook and RAM prices are making Windows wake up but I actually doubt we'll see much performance increase. This is clearly inaccurate, they cared about os quality, they merely pack the competence to execute on it. And they still do.

Then they start pulling desperate measures to regain the player base with crownfall and monster hunter collab, but the playerbase still goes on a downward slope, even after 7.40 gets released. I'm glad you said "most", because Linus Torvalds is definitely not the only one, who audits Linux. The whole tech world relies on Linux, you have Microsoft, AMD, Intel, Google and MANY more having people working on the kernel, FULL TIME.

And that is not Linux exclusive, what about super important tools and programs? Like openSSL, openSSH, DHCP those are audited the fuck out. Or compilers like GCC and Clang. Open standards are so good and important and I feel like if something is important to humanity, it should be open source, I'm not talking about consoomer garbage like MacOS and Winodws or some other proprietary software like PS. Linux and open source will stay forever.

if you actually gave a shit about your privacy then you wouldn't be here voluntarily begging the NSA to analyze and track every post you make on the biggest fake anonymity honeypot on earth
if you preach about privacy on 4Chitwood you've already proven you don't give a single fuck about privacy
i bet you preach about privacy while posting all day on facebook too you virtue signaling nigger
if you care about privacy then prove it and fuck off and don't come back
or just keep proving in this thread with every post you make that you don't give a single fuck about privacy and are just a virtue signaling nigger

It's 100% guaranteed every single virtue signaling schizo in this thread also carries the original 1984 holy grail in their pocket, a device that tracks every step you take, records every word you say, tracks every breath you breathe, uploads every word you type, scans every photo you snap, records every minute you sleep, logs every McDonald's you visit, spies on everything you buy, etc.

The only difference between Apple, Google, and MS, is that Apple and Google have trained their braindead cattle to religiously take it up the ass without complaining.

Yeah, it's dumb as shit, can't care too much though since I've been using Linux for ages.
>>
>>108418943
>If you had a button to turn off spying, you would instantly press it.
No, I wouldn't because I am not a retard. I don't give a shit because, guess what, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT YOU outside seeing you as $$$ and why the fuck do you care if someone makes money off selling your lonely ass data about how you play Factorio or some retarded shit game. Go mind your business you retard. The people collecting your data doesn't affect you. Fuck off.
Not using Windows for privacy reasons is the most retarded, idiotic reasoning you could have.
>>
>>108418950
This 100% its stupid to care about it. If you care about privacy that much then go live in the woods like a cave man. If you want to exist in modern society THEN FUCK OFF with your fears about privacy invasion. Its the price to pay to live in a society you incels.

Many people criticized the ban of VPNs and TOR, but still it doesn't require any account or phone number + I'm willing to use it, unlike other services that do stuff without my consent.

Implying that I use those.

>>108418951
oh i am the same as i am linux only too. i'm only surprised amd killed off such great cards on windows so soon. especially considering how utterly lackluster rdna 4 is.
i am so glad i use linux. i see cards like the ati 4850 still getting fixes with mesa. all because some random guy in his bedroom wants to spend time fixing ancient cards. what makes open source model so awesome.

RDNA 3 will be dropped soon 100%, just because of fucking FSR4
>>
>>108416875
I would agree if you're a person who actually uses those icons, but I always use keyboard shortcuts to fuck with windows.
However, the bottom is also retarded on typical widescreens since you have less vertical space than horizontal.
>>
>>108418996
Absolutely they are going to be killing off RDNA 3 support soon. From seeing all the rumors, RDNA 5 is going to be a new architecture instead of being a continuation of RDNA. RDNA 5 is just keeping the RDNA branding but underneath its all new. Effectively merging RDNA and CDNA together with a big focus on AI performance.
They are not going to want keep maintaining everything else prior. They will probably move RDNA 4 down into maintenance mode when RDNA 5 launches and RDNA 3 and below will be dropped completely.

I haven't used Mac for 20+ years. I'm switching back at work because of how shit win11 has been. Too little too late.

I am thinking Windows team finally getting permission for free-tier agent only now in 2026, no? But these people, they are making such rubbish things before... I am telling you sirs, we cannot expect anything. Even if they are using max-tier also, I am 169% sure they will reject all good suggestions by AI and give order to write everything in Electron only, in shittest way. Same story, every time.

Windows, a very Indian OS
dont think there's any white men who would admit yo using this
>>
>>108420376
Heard a few years ago that eventually microsoft would ditch NT in favor of the linux kernel.
You have to understand though, they struggle with anything that is not win32. Windows doesn't survive without compatibility. They've been trying to get away from that several times and failed to do so. Windows ARM wouldn't be a consideration without Prism.
>>
>>108416280
Still shitty bloat/mal/spy ware.
I have literally no reasons to use winslop.
And they can't save their shitty kernel the whole mess is built on.
kek you can't even delete a file that's used by a process and for that reason you need to shut down everything to be able to update.
Their update also takes extremely long when most linux distro can update the full system in like 20s and without having to reboot if you don't want to.

Being able to snip in terminal is pretty based.
Of course, your DWM probably has snipping functionality if you press printscreen, or as a desktop program you can run.
>>
>>108421631
Yes, if it doesn't you can just keybind the command or a short script.
>>
>>108420372
back in the day it often did but recently PREEMPT_RT got merged into Linux and PulseAudio got replaced by PipeWire. Pipewire is a lot faster than pa and in some cases even faster than JACKd (the old sound server for latency-sensitive applications). pw implements basically all the old common API's so it doesn't need rewrites like we did for pulseaudio. you can now run any application and route it's output into a daw. Any game, any browser, any application is now a source and a sink to be routed into any other application. You can use any VST on your voice to add reverb when making an important point or have a soundboard application and feed both into Zoom. Your friend has a nasal voice? octave shift and filters to the rescue!

All of these things are regressions. All he's saying is that they will attempt fewer regressions and to fix the ones they've already made.

This is the bare minimum of software development. Small teams of barely literate retards at hardware companies manage this, you should demand more from the largest software company on Earth.

c-r scr will bring up scrot -s and you can just hit c-w to type in a name (since you will want to name the file instead of having screenshot473.png in your home folder.) You're probably already in a terminal in the directory you want it in anyway.
>>
>>108420722
it would be a gigantic step in the right direction at least
