/g/ what cheap VPS hosting you'd recommend? I mainly need CPU, RAM requirements are like 512MB per thread, storage is irrelevant (even 1GB would be enough). But budget is tight.I looked at picrel and DigitalOcean and both look like overpriced bullshit. Other two I checked were Hetzner and IONOS. Pricing is roughly the same but Hetzner offers shared while IONOS (seemingly) not.I also looked at AWS and similar and I can get same resources cheaper but I feel like there's a catch (like CPU is going to be absolute dogshit).Maybe some you know some hidden gems?

>>108418014oracle free tier if you can run what you need on arm
>>108418199not exactly freeyou need credit card details and also>Must be created in home region>Idle instances may be reclaimed (CPU <20%, Network < 20%, Memory < 20% for 7 days)>No service level agreement on free tier>Capacity constraints may occur in some regionsmany people woke up one day to find their shit just gone

>>108418230That's some poo in the loo curse right?
>>108418213>adverb>1.>without cost or payment.>"ladies were admitted free"OP presumably wasn't going to pay digitalocean or hostinger or AWS with dogecoin. the man either has a credit card or can use a virtual one. block storage is preserved, the only thing released is the instance itself which can just be requested again. not sure what kind of boomer needs a service agreementnot sure what boomer cares about any of this stuff honestly
>>108418023No.>>108418134Too expensive. I should've written the exact expectations in OP post, my bad.Budget is up to $10/month, I don't need a domain nor IPv4. 2, better 4 vCPU with 0.5GiB RAM per vCPU. Storage is only really needed for OS and some temporary files that I know won't be too large.Google Cloud is like $37 for 2 vCPU and 2GiB RAM (e2-highcpu-something).Also should mention that no "get 2 years for -80%" shit, I'm not sure if I want it to run longer than a few months, it's just a test to see how good it'll work and all that.>>108418199Sadly, they say fuck you for like a year now. Basically they don't give me a machine in my home region (my fault should've chosen something far from civilization like Australia or some shit). And there will be ffmpeg in all that and Idk because of that. Pretty sure it'll work but not sure if it's not gonna be much slower on ARM. I would've happily tested it beforehand for free to make sure. But I don't have anything but my phone that is ARM.>>108418262Yeah, budget is non-existent by any serious standards, but it's there and I plan to pay with an actual card. But I want it to be stable. I see that there's now those "spot" instances on AWS and GCP which can be killed any second and I don't want them unless those are killed like once per few days at least.
>>108418014have a look at IONOShttps://www.ionos.com/or virmachhttps://virmach.com/or racknerdhttps://www.racknerd.com/
>>108418014there are thousands of vulnerable vibe coded websites out there just waiting to be commandeered for the cause. it's free.
>>108418318>IONOSYes, that's what in the OP post. Are their VPS shared resources? I don't see explicit mention but price suggests that.>virmachWorse than IONOS but still good enough for me, thanks.>racknerd>2vCPU 1GiB RAM>$18Yeah, no.
>>108418356racknerd has a 23$ per year VPShttps://www.racknerd.com/kvm-vps
>>108418377Yeah, I got that part, but it's too shit. I want at least two vCPUs.Also their pricing model suggests that "first you scam us, then we scam you" model with $23 per year for first option and $18 per month for the second one. They will sell you (super affordable) shit and force you to upgrade.
>>108418014I used transip.eu for years. Never had any issues.

>>108418014what for?
>>108418564Without going into details it'll going to be just a simple server that will be running ffmpeg jobs.
>>108418638unless you're careful to limit ffmpeg jobs with cpulimit so you don't get kicked out, you'll want dedicated vcores if you're gonna be encoding videos, like the "general purpose" cloud option that hetzner offers for $14/mo.

>>108418717I'm assuming they're wanting to do something like use ffmpeg to monitor a bunch of rtsp streams or something without saving the data long term.not sure why they're being so secretive about whatever it is they want to do. really weird for an anonymous imageboard.

Doesn't sound all that impressive. Then again, I might run into situation where I will have to scale in terms of threads so might be a good choice.>>108418717If I said so, I said so.
