The very concept of twitter seemed ridiculous and retarded back then and it still is today. I remember when people were discussing it in late 00s the main consensus was that the nature of twitter will unavoidably attract only the most deranged and/or narcissistic mentally ill idiots who don't have lives outside the internet, and it was correct evaluation.
