if you get out of the 4chan echo chamber, you'd be surprised how rare the schizo mindset is.

Almost nobody cares about their technological privacy.
The only thing that has made at least a tiny dent in the average user's mind is the anti-US techbro talk in the EU.
But I see no actions.

Still Linux Mint is nice.

yes, so this blog post is worthless to post here

i seem to remember everyone was upset about the NSA in like 2005 when i was little, but nowadays it gets a passing joke at most. i wonder if it's because the younger generations are raised without the expectation of privacy in the first place, and older people like Gen X and boomers are in general more trusting of institutions

I know baby, now shush, I'm watching Picard humiliate those Romulans with facts and logic.

Isn't hyperbola the libre flavor?

I spent a good part of last year in China, and it was quite interesting to see how privacy isn't really even a thing they can conceive of. Like no one is meddling in the affairs of the day to day life of normal people, but I think there is a general understanding that you do not fuck with the government or try to get up to anything that could be destructive to the national order. It isn't so different here, but there is much less awareness of it. But yeah to your point, I think this new generation understand that everything they do and even everything they think can be tracked and recorded and they will never have privacy.

The new generation willingly uploads their daily life to social media.
Their understanding appears to be limited to tiktok told me privacy leak on x app,

Basically you are the only person in your family who is not mentally retarded. I know how it feels. '-_-
