One of my professors made self driving and self parking cars.
They were used at container terminals to pick up and stack containers for example.

Language models were also already thing.
One model we had you could ask "who invented the electric guitar?" and it would reply "Jimi Hendrix".
Yeah not perfect but neither are today's models.

The only real limitations were compute and RAM.
The fields has barely progressed except now we finally have the RAM size and compute power to run the models we wanted to run in the 1990's.

honestly less cumbersome to do 90% of that outside of comfy. who the fuck trains with it? it's going to be irrelevant for the actual lip syncing since the wan2.2 audio fine-tune will just do it now. most of the things in comfy just feels like a waste of time noodling when a convenient interface could just have it. it's only useful for automating which what you described isn't automation at all

Anima is such shit model.
Sure, it gets the clothing, colors, and general character appearance right, but the consistency between seeds is fucked. Same prompt, different seed, and suddenly my character is either 30kg heavier or lighter or has completely different muscle mass. Age is all over the place too, could be 10 years older or younger depending on the roll.
Holy shit, the instability is insane.

Continuing, Anima doesn't differentiate between body types at all. Genshin girls, Honkai, Blue Archive, Fate, Evangelion, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Digimon, they all have completely different body type. But Anima just mashes everything together and spits out whatever body type on any seed.
I'm telling you again, it's not an @official art/style/author/whatever, this helps with face and body at minimum.
Assign proper body type tags to Anima because right now they're not working for shit. Make the model actually believable or at least usable for people who are amateur anime artists and have actually studied this stuff.
Right now Anima is 2d cosplay central, not a real anime model.
