Why is there an assumption that this won't lead to systemD adding ID checks?

anon idk how to tell you this.
Government doesn't need ID checks to know that it's you.
A 100% you don't clear your web browser on shutdown.
100% You've used your google/steam/whatever account across devices, including your phone, with a phone number tied to your account.
They don't need none of that when most of big tech is in bed with US (and israeli - no limits on breaking TOS in the cloud compute providers etc) government.
>>
>>108438313
This is cope. There are different threat models, privacy isn't all or nothing. There's a difference between making aspects of your browsing hard to connect to a real ID unless directly targeted, and sending scans of your butthole to the gov when getting on wikipedia.

Additionally, everyone needs to start improving their privacy from somewhere. Instead of lamenting that it's pointless to someone that's objecting to the NEW intrusions that are coming, give them advice on how to make themselves even more private.

Privacy is an all or nothing matter.

Either you talk online or you have privacy.

Either you don't watch youtube and especially your account and avoid android phones like fire or you get youtubers on your face talking to your ass 24/7.

Either you tell something private in private or you tell it to the whole world.
There almost exists no in-between, at best like your closest enivornment doesn't actually know.
>>
>>108438540
Either you connect your phone to your home wifi or you have privacy.
Either you use the internet or have privacy.

Depends on the implementation. Saying "I'm 18 or over" on a website is harmless.

Verifying IDs so that app developers can start segmenting their consumer bases by age is just going to lead to a couple rogue devs grooming kids

>With all of the conspiracy theories being floated around, I asked Dylan if anyone paid him to submit these code changes, or if he did it on behalf of any government agency (as some corners of the Internet have suggested).

>Dylan: “The answer to both questions is obviously no. Any CS undergrad could have written that PR. They didn't NEED to pay someone with a degree in software engineering to do it. It's adding an additional field to a database with PII in it already.”

>Oh. And I noted some people attacked Dylan while calling him a “Jew” (in very *ahem* colorful ways). So, as ridiculous as it seems, I asked him about that, too.

The age verification laws are one amendment barring circumvention away from making open source software completely and totally illegal.
>>
>>108437116
Submit to a drug test and background check, then we'll talk.
>>
>>108438892

Brodie is a fucking retarded poser wokie. Anyone with a brain-tem can tell these OS level age bracket verification systems are going to be as ineffective as asking your age at the website level and then the lawmakers will then amend the laws for remote attestation and globohomo age verification services based in Israel. Then comes the digital ID for "convenience", tied into TPM modules and hardware fingerprints.

Small websites won't even be able to exist once the digital ID mandates start happening.

Look at the actions of these mega corporations, they are trying to lock down the personal computer, add as much encryption as possible and make your device into nothing more than a dumb terminal they control. They already have control over mobile phones. "Tampered" or legacy devices won't even be able to access the internet, hence the drive by Microsoft to get rid of any computer without TPM modules. Apple has the T2 chips, and I'm not sure about Android.

systemd runs on 99% of servers, most users on a modern linux distro are non-human daemons doing random tasks often for a human that logs in maybe once every 3 months or more. this last option everyone is shitting themselves over no one uses. literaslly no one uses userdb. i have a debian machine where it doesnt even have a userdbctl command. if systemd added id checks, no one would use it.

Why do you care about the major Linux distros? If you are not using a privacy-oriented distro then you are lost. Also, it is easier for a politician to donate to Israel than it is for them to serve the people they represent, if you believe in voting next time don't just pick the first name that is supported by AIPAC or has a history of doing anything when in office.
>>
>>108440763
I've been saying this all along. Retards are scrambling to migrate to a non-systemd distro, which is completely pointless. Soon enough anything not compliant will be blocked from all access. It won't matter if your on Void, Artix, or whatever. So, why disrupt and destroy your workflow to switch and unfamiliar distro only to get cucked anyway.
Retards never listen.

>>

Everyone in the world has ingrained cuckdom in their DNA since most of their countries were still either feudal a mere 100 years ago, colonial outposts, or have gone through millennia of tyrannies and similar bullshit. The Australian identity was internalized as just being the "help" for the British. He's just going to extend that to whatever power structure he detects is above him. America is the only colony that got away, borne in the age of pirates, and founded by shitposters and rebels. And even then, it's weakening and people forget themselves. And there's too many jews here to boot...and too many third worlders importing their slavish shit.

It is retarded to go after the devs implementing this. They didn't come up with this shit and they don't have a building full of lawyers to cover their asses. If you comply with step one, you're just asking for step two. I hate this guys take. This was one of those times he should have kept his opinion to himself. And I equaklly hate that some distro maintainers are goinng out of their way to comply to a law that exits in a foreign country, and only one or two states in that foreign country. ID checks are a good thing. The anonymous Internet was a mistake. Every computer should be required to be fully signed and an identity provider should be mandatory for attestation. This is the only way to exert the requisite level of control over the market in cyberspace. Things like ad blockers and piracy can be eliminated over night, ensuring content owners receive the money they deserve for the work they put in. Children can be protected. Consumers can have a faster and more seamless experience—rather than being interrupted every other page with a "pay" button these transactions can become automatic. Visit the New York Times, your bank account is automatically deducted based on the articles you read and credited based on the advertisements you engage in. The attested future will make you happy. As more I sit in the linux world the more I realize Unix is the perfect wagie enslavement OS.

Repositories are literally slavery and the OS needs internet to function.
The retarded "you do not have privileges for this, this incident was reported" in redhat/fedora.
The removal of sudo....

Its a fucken nightmare.
A real OS should only run in admin mode and let you delete system files without even asking like windows 98 SE.

>Nooo what about the other users?!
This is my personal computer!

>Linux cucks always cuck out.
It is incredible what turbo cuckolds they are.
>Some states in the US (One country!) demand we put age verification into the OS (a unbelievably retarded idea)
>Here you go!
>We do not want to things that are illegal!
>in 1 country!
>And only some regions of this 1 country!
>[clown music starts]
>We do not want to things that are illegal!

Daily reminder that the same devs will race faster then the speed of light to implement spyware if some regions of the US want mandatory gov spyware in the OS.
And blame the user if they do not agree.

At this point I hope the planet fucken explodes or we crash into a black hole. Just fucken end it!

The only choice if corporate spyware(MS/apple) or turbo cuckold false opposition(linux).

>I'm so brave
Sorry chud now fiction shows the government and everyone who agrees with it as the good guys. Only evil loner incels are the real enemy. Be afraid of incels and social exclusives who criticize what everyone says!

>>108441585
>If you have to use your government ID to use your Linux machine most of the world will abandon Linux the next day.
Nope I think only 10% will go away. 80% are corporations who do not give a fucks and 10% are the leftists who love giving their data to the government.

>>Most servers DO NOT HAVE HUMAN USERS. So what the fuck are they to do? What is Root's birthdate? Can he drive? What about shadowuser?
WRONG! Objectively wrong!

1) Corporation enter their corporate ID or what the fuck the US uses to give registration numbers to their corporations.

2) Are you for real?!
>What is Root's birthdate?
You realize that linux has literally fields for every user including
>First Name
>Last Name
>E-Mail
>Telephone number
And root is not magic you NEET LGBT retard! In corporations the sys admin is a human who is in the root account and has it all filled in with his info. So he gives his government id there!

Like are you retarded?
>What about
This is he retarded cope you retards have!

Like I pointed out unix sounds like the perfect waggie enslavement system if you actually used it and think about it for 4 minutes!

3)
>What about
You noticed the trend to eliminate su and replace it with sudo? And what user did preform admin actions?
No? Use linux you retard!

>Age verification is the gateway to enforced digital ID
What makes me mad is that they want age verification on the OS level.
Like jesus fuck!
I can understand browser level however OS level?
Did we stop pretending that computers are not only internet access machines at this point?

Like what if I do not want to connect my computer to the internet? Will this be illegal next?

Yes, the elites agreed that allowing personal calculators to the goycattle was a mistake, that's why they're pushing for the mainframe model to return.

Be careful of influencers.

The Brazilian Law in favor of age verification was pushed by a known influencer.

I'm going to say this one more time.
You can run away from systemd all you want. You can change distros all you want. At the end of the day, you're just wasting your time. They ARE going to madate websites and online services verify ID tokens from your OS before you'll be allowed to access and use anything. At that point it won't matter what init or distro you use. You'll be 404'ed off the web.
Moving from systemd isn't going to teach the devs a lesson. Linux as a whole fucked itself by allowing an init to become standardized, which gave incredible power to a select few. You can blame the distro maintainers and developers who were too lazy to incorporate different inits with different packages and supports.
I've said it before and I'll say it again and again and again untill you chuds get it.
Out of 100 modern day Linux users only about 20 even know what's going on, 10 of those 20 might actual care, and maybe 5 will stick it to the devs by changing distros to a non-init system. This, the devs don't give a shit.
Changing your entire workflow and dealing with the headaches and time wasted on non-init hobbyist distros is your choice to make. But you'll be back here in a year complaining about not being able to use your system for anything because it doesn't have the required ID token required by "the internet".
You need to be focused on hacks and work around. Use AI to create fake IDs if needed, support devs working on init forks and other patches. That's a far more reasonable and realistic approach then trashing years of settings and configs in response to an emotional knee jerk reaction.

Homos.
>>
>soon all software will require age verification no matter what
