Backdoored routers used to create massive residental proxy botnets to be banned by Trump

they should make it retroactive if they know what's good for them
>>
They have banned all routers
That's what this has done
Banned all routers
>>
>>108440757
Why does this even matter? I have to use the router my ISP gave me anyways.
>>
>>108440883
Things are really that bad in the US? Wew.
>>
>>108440757
So are the foreign state actors making them botnets, or do they have shit software that is hacked and turns them into botnets? Massive difference there.

Anyway, let me go find my local non-Chinese wireless router that isn't from a country with a gorillion dollars in tariffs on it. Oh wait.

Another brilliant trumptranny move.
>>
huge win for home companies, consumers wont even notice
>>
>>108440757
What will they think of to circumvent the ban? Consumer routers are usually basic computers without a lot of specialized hardware.

- 8 year old Intel NUC (product of Israel) out of a dumpster
- Intel NUCIOALUWS expansion module (product of Israel) for WAN port
- Intel M.2 wifi module (product of Israel) with Linux AP mode support
install linux, configure ip routes, iptables, nftables, dnsmasq, radvd, iwd, connman etc, done

I know some people who bought absurdly cheap router/mesh networking and I've always been suspicious of it to be honest, like 30 bucks for a 3 device mesh is suspiciously cheap.
>>
>>108442434
it says companies can apply for exemptions so this will probably only target tp-link and huawei and etc
>>
>>108440757
Just as with the Management Engine in Intel products, the U-Boot code in TP-Link devices contains a backdoor.
>>
>>108442439
im far more suspicious of chink camera manufacturers
eufy and reolink are NOT to be trusted, yet EVERY home has one here

we need to go back to when cameras were expensive

>Be America
>Buy/manufacture ALL of your shit in China (your political and economic rival and enemy)
>Grow extremely dependent on it
>Elect a corrupt antagonistic piece of boomer neocon shit who starts actively creating hard times by beefing with the rest of the world at the behest of Israel
>Suddenly realize that all that cheap chink shit can be used against you in upcoming WW3
Genuine question: why are they so retarded?

Damn, the MAGA cult was quick on the draw. I wonder why?

What this tells me is that the Trump administration is going to force backdoors on all consumer routers going forward and that I shan't be buying. This is scorched earth alongside the forced ID requirement for OS that is coming. Time to buy up uncucked routers while they're still around, boys and girls

It's funny, for all the alt-right nogs on this website, you voted for the death of anonymity and thus, 4chan. The bots will either try damage control, or they will cede because there isn't a real defense of this and say "good, I want 4chan to die".

For all of the real people on this website; remember, this has always just been a class war dressed up as a culture war. Make sure you've chosen the right side.

Meanwhile Blink/Ring are literally uploading all footage to AWS, sharing the data with alphabets/flock and training their AI models. Many Amazon employees are straight up watching clips of you doing shit in your own home.

Not many people talk about how, Blink cameras for example, are literally hardcoded to transmit the video feed to AWS and when you use the app to view the camera or clip, you can never connect to the camera locally, you must have an internet connection. Even the sync module is just downloading the clips from AWS. Amazon is literally receiving ALL of the data.

Very few products you can actually trust, but at least with the chink shit you can airgap them and they're still usable.

That was a very weird confession as a projection out of nowhere. Really activates the almonds.

we NEED to go BACK to when cameras were expensive
>>
>>108444148
Of course it doesn't. What's going to happen is the US/Isreali backdoor will be implemented via firmware updates on older models. This is the end of privacy on the internet.

nothing you linked suggests this. just because it is "made in america" does not prevent backdoors.

how? if you aren't paying rental fees, there is no point. my ISP provided Eero has all the stupid features I want, including SQM and meshing.

are you one of those retards who goes all in on cope fake security shit like vlanning or something? if your shit software doesn't have TLS + Auth, it shouldn't be running in any network.

>>
>>108444415
Yes it does you retard. American businesses have no reason to backdoor American customers but Chinese businesses sure do. TRUMP is trying to protect AMERICANS from the EVIL CHINESE and you're just sitting here on a Mongolian basket weaving forum spouting absurd lies.

Ah, so this is the damage control the rightists are running with? The American companies that are currently spying on everything you do have no reason to spy on you? Let's see if people buy it.

For some bundled services you have to keep the ISP router in the loop. From my experience a few years ago, if you have Verizon FiOS internet and TV service, the Verizon-supplied router is required for the TV to work since it all operates off of MoCA from the router. Granted, you could put another router upstream and segregate the Verizon router to its own subnet, but it still had to be present for the TV to work.
>>
>>108444770
theyre not even neo, we get ancien regime bullshit
>>
>>108444760
its about firmware, ubiquiti runs american firmware, tplink runs chinese
>>
>>108444790
try a dictionary
>>
>>108444804
Nope, it's not about cybersecurity. Ubiquiti will be forced to implement the US/Israeli backdoor like all of the others. They will also be forced to lie about it publicly to continue doing business in the US.
>>
>>108440757
Great, we will use official NSA backdoors then
