Where can even display tech go from there?

No use case for those.

yet you still get rankmogged by some slav fuck playing on a stolen 2010 thinkcentre and those 10 dollar acer 4:3 monitors

g-sync pulsar is a clear case where the tech could be much improved just based on how granular the tech they've shown us is
>>
>>108441835
>1000hz LCDs
LCDs have like 20ms response times in testing despite whatever claims they make on the box. Even at 60hz they're not fully transitioning between frames. 1000Hz would just be a smear as the pixels are constantly chasing targets they'll never hit.
>>
>>108441892
Rolling scan emulation. 1000Hz will give you motion like a CRT with 120 FPS content.
>>
>>108442410
if you have a 1000Hz OLED of course
>>
>>108442415
Yes, yes, yes, we've all seen the lies and misrepresentations in the marketing. Transitions instantaneously (as long as the pixel doesn't change between frames). Now go look at the numbers from independent testing.
>>
>>108442410
Like I said, no use cases.

there have been 1-4ms response time LCDs for about a decade now, feel free to go watch literally any

here's a random cheap shit 4K 160hz display

You don't want perfect motion on your screen?
>>
>>108442470
...and? This doesn't fix it. Maybe if we get G-Sync Pulse OLEDs at 240Hz.

it depends on what content in the game, obviously if you've become used to LCD motion blur OLED is going to look pretty clear, but it's still blurry

>>108442521
>If I watch the blurbuster thing on my oled monitor at 240hz its fine for clarity.
Not how it works...

>>108442521
That's why shit like framegen are actually useful.

This? Even at 480Hz the clarity is amazing.

Yeah.

Good luck trying to achieve 1000 FPS on modern shitware. Retard.

Color accuracy, local dimming and anti-reflection technologies are still shit

>Where can display tech go from there
Someone could finally make one that doesn't need all this extra faggotry because it does everything out of the box and by design infinite refresh rate infinite resolution infinite amount of colours infinite contrast no proprietary requirements like with g-sync and "free"sync something that doesn't require you to run it at half brightness and something tbat won't need tiny lenses or health cycles
>>
>>108442698
One day when we get Pulsar OLEDs.
>>
>>108442616

>>
>>108441835
Per-pixel local dimming and 10,000 nit peak brightness per pixel with 100% duty cycle
>>
>>108442410
at this point why not just make real rolling scan displays

does strobing even do anything at 500hz? at that point the clarity is just insane
>>
>>108441835
Are we bringing back SLI to pair 5090s for these? I can't even get to the 175hz limit on my 1440p ultrawide with AMD's top card

How about monitors that don't colour drift within Planck time.

The are studies going back to the 70s that plainly say there is.

>>108442581
I'm surprised some meme monitor company hasn't baked this shader into a "60Hz" display.

>500hz OLED
Just release an OLED monitor with the kind of strobing in VR headsets
I dont care if its not a thousand nits and flickers like a CRT
VR headsets proves Flatscreens are capable of perfectly clear motion, why cant we get this in a monitor?
I play in VR in perfect clarity and then go back to some shitsmear monitor for 3d games?
no thanks

>>108444120
Because you want to combine the strengths of different technologies, CRTs have plenty of negatives by themself.
