carpal tunnel is being a bitch. I need to rest my hands and still work. What speech recognition software are there that run locally and don't sell my voice to indian ai startups? what was the standard before ai rolled out?
Try a version of Dragon from before MS bought out Nuance
>>108445373Try not being a bitch and man up. Know how many times I've gotten carpal tunnel? 0. Its because I go to the gym and can bench my own weight. Maybe try it sometime
>>108445373Fast Whisper on a 1080ti
>>108445373The only real fix is like six months of rest which is fucking agonizing. The next best thing is lifting to grow your forearms and taking every break you can. Good luck brother mine only healed because I was unemployed.
>>108445373why are zoomers so weak and fragile?
>>108445436It feels more like cubital in one hand and carpal in the other. I need to study or do some shit because I've been neet for 3 years already. I started doing pullups and that was what busted my shit. This absolutely sucks, goddamn body is breaking down from living in a normal way.
>>108445373
I fixed this by getting a chair with arm wrests that matched the height of the desk, now there's 0 strain while browsing/typing
>>108445373next time rest your hands when they get strained BEFORE you contract carpal tunnel..oh wait there wont be a next time, you were a giant retard and fucked your hand for the rest of your life, just because you didnt listen to your bodystupid faggot
>>108445373ive used my pc for 10+ hours every day for the last 30 years, and i've never had this problem
>>108445373Try nerve gliding. It eased my pain when I had it. Check Youtube and do it slowly to not overstretch the nerve. I annihilated my CTS by fixing the imbalances in my forearms using a kettlebell (I were just doing cleans and presses, no specialized work). I never felt the pain again, and I'm now climbing. I was a stone mason, the MD (hand specialist) told me it was there for life, and I'll need to get my carpal tunnel widened eventually. It was a 16kg KB, which wasn't heavy because of my strength. Try a lighter one or perhaps try other forearm exercises, especially the ones working the extensors (you'll probably need a Pilate band). They diagnosed it using some large needles they put in both of my arms and apply a small electrical current to them. They were confident that it was a real CTS.CTS originates in the carpal tunnel in the wrist, but you can also get a CTS-like pain because of a compression somewhere else on the nerve. For instance, it could come from tight neck muscles. So, you can also try to strengthen your deep flexor muscles in your neck. I didn't need it for the CTS, but I also had a very powerful pain in my back because of a chronically bad posture, which made my muscles weaker and tight. While lying down, tuck your chin in and lift your shoulders and head a tiny bit. Stay like this until your head start shaking. Do it a few times per week.
>>108445959How long did you have pain in your tendons? That seems to be the main problem, i've had some for a month and if I keep using them I will get tendinopathyz and if i don't use them I get atrophy.
>>108445373>carpal tunnel is being a bitchunironically, look up ergonomy advice for sitting and typing posture, and get a good chair (that means not a $50 ikea one, and not one of these retarded gaming ones; look up what offices buy)can't help with current symptoms, but don't let your body suffer needlessly anonbro, and consider that this is a small investment when you sit in front a monitor 8 hours a day or moregood luck
>>108445373>been a claw gripping, high sensitivity user all my life>wrist practically melded to the mouse mat>zero issuessome people were just born to fuck I guess
>>108445373>What speech recognition software are there that run locally Whatever voice model FUTO keyboard on Android uses is extremely fuckin good. I'm consistently shocked by how accurate it is.
>>108445373You have more than one hand, and using the non dominant one is good for your brain.
>>108445373fast whisper rocks
>>108448018Non-dominant hand is the busted one, because it's the joystick hand, the flute hand, the mouse while I fap hand, the driving hand. Right one was fine until 2 days ago when I drove 4 hours and now it's busted as well.
>>108449105That's rough anon. TTS might be good for some use cases but you could also try a vertical mouse, pen tablet or pointer (eg. wiimote). The main problem is you are pressuring nerves by crossing your wrist bones in the palm-down position. Any other hand position will be less bad.
i worry im risking permanent damage after about 2.2 years now of rsi symptoms. although it might be my neck or something>>108445959. The 15 dollar gyroball i got off amazon seems to help somewhat.
>>108449105I think you're simply going to have to stop giving handjobs at the local gloryhole. Oral or anal only from now on, doctor's orders
>>108445402>Its because I go to the gym and can bench my own weightFor a burger that's really impressive
>>108445373I'm going to give you the only correct answer: FUTO Voice Input
>>108445373that's why i use a tiling wm, not having to use the mouse at all when working eliminate my issue coimpletly.>>108445402i never had the issue before i broke my hand in an accident, no amount of gym will fix it as it just didn't heal properly, to get rid of it permanently i'd need the hospital to rebreak it for it to heal right this time, making it unusable for a month which yea no, it's not bad enough that i care.>bench my own weightweak, you should be able to bench more than your own weight.
>>108452009>>108445373Try "pulling your wrist out". Basically grab into your hand with your other have and pull lightly. It's possible that when your wrist broke your nerves got stretched and they are now getting impinged. You have the right idea though: you need a lot of rest on tier wrists if they hurt. Gym can eventually help though, but you shouldn't do that until your wrists stop being painful. Other things that can help: lightly wrapping your wrists with elastic bandages. This keeps them warm and offers a bit of support. If you're going to be doing some gaming then I recommend doing this while you game. Anti-inflammatories help too - vitamin C, NAC etc. Magnesium supplements help too. Just don't expect them to be super effective.Have you tried the Windows speech to text features? Were they not good enough? (Win + Ctrl +s)
>>108445402This a troll post, ignore it.>>108445461Because young people today have been doing a lifetime of career work in 10 years, so they get repetetive strain injuries early. It's professional injuries as we call them. Also don't discount illnesses like echlers.
>>108445622How to get smartphone thumb.
>>108452079>pulling your wrist outit pops and give temporary relief but that's it.i actualy got xrays for it and yea, no poping will fix the issue, even tried the grain rice wrist exercise, but no muscle training will fix a bone that's not straight.>nerves got stretched and they are now getting impingedit's also to do with the tendons snapping over the bone.>but you shouldn't do that until your wrists stop being painfulit's been like 15 years now, the bone is just not shaped exactly like it should.it's manageable if i am careful and tiling wm actualy helped, now i only feel it if i strain it too much too long.even for playing violin it's not too annoying (it's the right hand).>Just don't expect them to be super effectivei'm already on a low inflamation diet but yea it's the bone and i don't feel like not being able to use my hand for a month it's not painful enough to warrant it.i did break my knee year ago and yea, that was painful enough to justify the surgery and not being able to walk for 3 months.>Have you tried the Windows speech to text features? i'm not OP, i don't do tts because most of my typing is code and the movment that realy make it hurt is the back and forth between keyboard and mouse, which is why i made a setup such that i don't need to use the mouse.i'm not much of a gamer anymore either, but if i do play for a few days using the mouse i'll start to feel it.
>>108452164I'm in a similar boat as you, but not as severe. Supplementing magnesium and vitamin D really helped me. I went from getting pain every other day to very rarely getting it.
>>108452359what helped the most was lifestyle changes.i almost never feel pain, only happen if i overstrain it on specific things, worse if repeated.sometime it is in the "strained" state and i have to be gentle with it for a few days.
