>dozens of data centers being built across the USA every month

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/mystery-hum-heard-across-multiple-states-how-ai-is-destroying-suburban-peace-quiet/ar-AA1ZiCOs
>This isn’t your typical construction noise complaint disappearing after a few weeks. The 2.4-2.6 million square foot data center runs 36 Bergen natural gas engines generating up to 403 megawatts of power-enough to keep the AI dreams of Silicon Valley humming 24/7, two thousand miles away.
That's why.

>The Pattern Spreads Nationwide
>From Connecticut to Virginia, the same low-frequency complaints emerge wherever hyperscale facilities cluster.

>Similar complaints echo across multiple states where hyperscale data centers cluster. West Haven, Connecticut residents organized 140+ signatures demanding action on intensifying hums since 2020, eventually funding a $16,000 independent acoustics study. In Northern Virginia, Dale Brown lives just 700 feet from Amazon Web Services cooling systems that retired NASA analyst John Lyver says generate noise “far worse than figured.”

>The timing isn’t coincidental. AI’s explosive growth demands massive infrastructure, often built in formerly quiet areas where land costs less and power supplies remain adequate.

Basically: Fuck you goy. You vill be tortured by subsonic auditory hums that go through walls because it makes Zuckerberg and Sloppy Pajeet shitloads of dosh. Got a problem with it? They'll bribe police to shoot you at 2AM. They got theirs. Welcome to how the indians felt.

City commissioners are literally the most corrupt scum of modern society, slip 3 of them 100,000 and you can do all the damage you want to millions of people. That's why all of this is happening in states which are already densely populated: You would think they would put these someplaces sparse with little to no human activity, but to do that they would have to go through multiple layers of city councils and commissioners. Nah, just bribe a few of them in the densest parts of America to plop datacenters next to housing developments. You only have to bribe a few people, and all the people who would complain don't matter.

part of the reason these are all near major cities and suburbs is because these were zoned for commercial and business use, with county and city planners decades ago thinking this would be used for things like laundromats, wal-marts, auto repair shops, malls, things that would be helpful to the general population who may want to live nearby these things.

>The humming noise isn't harming people. It's just annoying.
Consistant sleep disruption is terrible for both your physical and mental health.
That alone is cause for concern.

However, if this sound carries for miles and miles, then it is ultra-low frequency. Just like wind turbines.
And there's a lot of empirical evidence suggesting that sustained exposure to such frequencies does very bad things to human intestines and other organs, possibly even fucks with cellular division and explosively increases the odds of contracting cancer.

No it's zoned for commercial. Get an education on what zoning laws are, you retard. Dealing with dipshits who think land in New Jersey is just "LAND YOU WOULDN'T SPIT ON THIS IS PEARL CLUTCHING" is truly exhausting because it proves you haven't left your parents basement in decades.

>Shittons of land that's $10K an acre but the average price in New Jersey in Virginia is close to $100K
>They choose to build there anyway
Again get a grip, it's because it's easier to build on existing zoned land and planners put zoned land near places that may benefit from that land. Or would, until a datacenter ate it.

'datacenters' per se wouldn't usually be the cause, but shitloads of gas turbines - which are obviously mounted outdoors - running at similar (but slightly off) frequencies ARE an issue when they start combining and clashing with each other. That genuinely can get v. annoying for quite a distance, its not 'absurd'
>There is more than enough power and water for existing use and new data center use to coexist
well, obviously the existing power infrastructure plainly ISN'T enough, otherwise they wouldn't have to resort to onsite gas generators, also a fine source of local pollution. Microsoft complain about latency as they need to split datacenters across states, as powering that amount of racks in one place would take out the entire available supply otherwise. And the less said about Musk's 'Build it and Infrastructure Shall Magically Appear' approach, the better.

Sleep deprivation fucks with your brain's ability to sift through an internalize the events of the day, and refresh and restore itself. This is going to sound mental, but a decent-ish comparison is to think about it like an OLED screen running a pixel refresher while it's in standby. That's basically what your neurons are doing.

Enough denying your brain to be able to do that and it will start having burn-in issues. You're going to start making really fucking weird connections in the higher cognition areas, like hallucinations of the waking dream variant kicked up to the worst levels of acid trip gone bad.

Objectively false. The irony of this situation is that you don't know enough English to even recognize it as such.
You seem to only know modern English while this is hardly Old and it's not even one of those ethno edge cases that somehow influenced English, this is like typical proto-European grammar.

Every American municipality is insolvent and the bureaucracy is scrambling to find any way possible to kick the can. The companies we bailed out and inflated with taxpayer money come knocking with a giveaway to any mayor or town or county council willing to sell their soul. Here we are.
>>

I don't think this is going to work. Antisemitism has absolutely exploded, especially since the past couple months. Overt hate for Israel has now moved across the aisle, my gay commie friends want jews the fuck out as much as I do now. It's over, at most they'll be able to retain a hold for a few more years as Boomers die, but as Gen Z ages up and eventually Gen Alpha reaches adulthood, it will be impossible for any candidate that is not overtly against Israel to make it into office.

Now, all that is not to say there won't be crypto jews. There will still be tons of them. But they're going to be a minority compared to the majority of Americans that want them out.

It wasn't The Hum, but I once had an issue with the fire doors in my building (which close automatically in an emergency and are quite heavy). The electrical system supplying them malfunctioned somehow (I never got an answer as to exactly how), but for 3 or 4 nights of hell, it made this loud, low pitched hum that would come and go in waves, but not predictably. My sleep was horrible those nights because it would wake me up, and then when it quit, I wouldn't be able to fall asleep from the anxiety of wondering when it was going to come back.

If The Hum is anything like that, I feel bad for those folk.

I have that every time where I live during the night (when the background noise is minimal). In fact I can hear it now. However it's not something mysterious, it's just the nearby supermarket that has really fucking loud external units for their ACs. Either that or a loud power transformer.

Dude. Read the fucking thread. Average Folks are waking up to this never-ending nightmare SUDDENLY springing up in their backyard, day after day. And night. Not that the time on the clock makes any difference to the datacenters. To these respectless mofo's, its all the same shit.

If only people made arguments that weren't hysterics.
I'd be fucking floored that even in the otherwise tiny towns these DCs are in that they were anywhere close to residential aeras because as Americans we fucking love car dependent infrastructure. Commercial properties are several miles from any house and industrial projects more so.

Every time you see cities and towns make weird decisions that are a giveaway to massive corpos, that all the citizens dislike and protest against, it's because they're desperate for the growth (sprawl) and tax revenue the new initiative will bring, because the current tax base isn't big enough.
Thank you for your skepticism, gave me a chance to post the link.

I've heard weird things when going to bed since I was little it is a humming noise but sometimes it sounds like a code so recently I have started turning off all electronics by the socket in my room before sleep even turning off my phone.

I started doing this a few days ago so weird that this thread popped up.

Sometimes with electronics you can hear the internals making noises and sometimes there can be interference for example if you have broken speakers and the wire pics up stuff from the motherboard you can hear the binary it sound like a lot of really really fasts stops and starts.

I realize this sounds schizo but it is very common.

When there are many antennas near a utility pole that only delivers electricity (not phone or cable) their load causes humming. I know because there's a pole with a light and it's covered in antennas, during the winter when everyone has heating on it's really loud, like someone strumming a cello.

I built my own data centre

it's 16M SQ coolled by ground water has 1M thick rebar concrete walls, drawn and filtered air flow and could easily double as a bomb shelter, It cost me 8000 Euros and I someyimes go in it turn off the celing light and sit watching all the coloured leds blinking while humming daisy daisy. I only have one rack in it tho'. It's colocated with a room in my house via two fibre strands and has full UPS and a 10kw generator in an external housing as well as solar paneling and two wind turbines.

Now what?
>>
>>108457583
Convert it to clean air, put a mini EUV machine and turn it into a fab. That's where it's at nowadays.

tldr, the areas around data centers are louder than active industrial oil pumps
my guess is that it's causing resonance in some structures which makes it audible

They can but they don't want to, sound frequency as well as electrical frequencies affect the body on a physical level, let's be schizo and let's say they would even be used to manipulate cells, if this shit became accepted and well known in the mainstream the implications could collapse society.
And these data centers are no more healthy than living nearby a chemical plant or a coal powered power plant or a foundry, it's just poorly understood, by design.

Because it's the only thing keeping up the US economy.
There are trillions out there that need to go somewhere to make the line go up.
Without the very marketable tech meme it's game over, because the next place money will go is outside the US and especially commodities.
Once the US bubble pops, we'll witness an end of an empire, while other nations experience their boom years.
US will become a Japan style situation where they're basically permanently fucked for decades.
This is just the last wealth extraction scam before the end.
