The sabotage begins. Opendesktop/Redhat get control of grub. Immediately start stripping functionality out of grub to push users to systemd-boot. In a year or to we'll hear about how you shouldn't use grub because it lacks features. Disgusting.

The fuck. They seriously believe nobody is going to raise an eyebrow at this?

Just use something else. You don't need specific distros to use linux
>>
>>108451427
>distro supports one init
>people are asked to used the best tested and supported init for that distro
wow you really showed me you fat bearded faggot. Install another distro you metrosexual. What happened to your OP about removing features from GRUB. Whatever that means you stupid fucking homosexual. Kill yourself
>>
>>108451442
Systemd-boot doesnt have themes?!? Dropped, not using that ugly shit.
And who uses something else than grub.
>>
>>108451456
I use it for my prepackaged images with specific purposes like rescue, mining or thin client images. It's easier to set up in that config than grub if you are using systemDick anyway
>>
>>108451378
>In a year or to we'll hear about how you shouldn't use grub because it lacks features.
Wrong. You will hear about Grub being used only by reactionary dipshits and having Hitler bytes o algo.

Why does Canonical even care about Grub? Just stop signing it altogether and only support systemd-boot. Why put the effort in to make a bad version of Grub that lacks any of the features people actually use Grub for? What a bunch of disingenuous scammers.
>>
>>108451378
man, before it was oracle, like i really dont like redhat, but is still an improvement
>>
>>108451442
As you see on your own table, only GRUB supports TPM variables, and so, secure boot.

what did Mark Shathimselfworth mean by this
>>
>>108451592
I'm sure it's trannies on top of trannies all the way down, I already switched to systemd-boot though years ago because grub is a steaming pile of shit and always has been even before they put a 2 after it.
>>
>>108451670
I mean you can still encrypt your system except the boot partition.
>>
>>108451378
how is having these features a security risk? Does grub implement these thing itself or does it call out to libraries?
>>
>>108451405
People did, IBM owns Redhat and they are implementing DEI
>>
>>108451595
Yes I do because Im hot and my laptop should be hot to. As an ugly person, you would not understand.
>>
>>108451800
GRUB is basically a simple operating system that boots the real operating system. The code might be copied from somewhere else but they have to include it in GRUB. Although because it's GNU slop they would only use GPLv3 code.

That covers I would guess the majority of systems which aren't completely standard. That said, most Ubuntu systems probably are completely standard.
Secure Boot is a bit of a pointless meme imo anyway. If you run IT for a company or you let out machines that get used by a lot of different people, I guess I can see the use. Pointless for a home user. If an attacked has physical access, it's over.
Anyway, for me, it's EFISTUB.
>>
>>108451933
secure boot will be mandatory in the future for digital ID verification. they want systemd to be the platform for this.

on-disk bootloaders are cringe and redundant for uefi platforms.
that being said i'd switch to petitboot instantly if somebody were to port it to amd64.
>>
Sabotage will continue until morale improves
>>
this is just about grub supporting booting from those things not restricting you from using them after the kernel is loaded, eg having /boot on btrfs instead of fat32 for some reason in the uefi era
if you hate systemd and dont want to use grub now either on artix you can just make a unified kernel image and boot it directly with no bootloader middleman https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Unified_kernel_image

The issue with Redhat is first And foremost that they help Jews steal from gentiles and rape, mutilate and murder gentiles.
