Is there a way to use my laptop to connect to a rack server? I need bios level control sometimes and lugging a monitor, cables, keyboard and mouse around is kind of heavy (but not impossible).any sug/g/estions?

>>108457787This seems like a job for a pikvm/nanokvm/etc with a static IP and an Ethernet connection to your PC. You can also get cheap 1080p USB video capture devices which rely on the UVC stack (webcam drivers, built into all relevant OSes) which will accept an HDMI or adaptered DVI input from the server. You'll still have to figure out how you're sending keystrokes, tho. You could pack a little tiny wireless thumboard keyboard with a USB RF receiver.
