It's over.
>>108461785Why did they do it at all if they were just going to shit themselves?
its a beautiful design but it doesnt make any sense now that apple makes ultra efficient smartphone chips exclusively
>>108461785its called mac studio now
foolish of you to believe apple wants to make actually practical hardware and not just status symbol goytoys
>>108461785The 9 people who needed a bunch of lanes of PCIe on a workstation will just have to use a PC now.
>>108461853post your specs
>>108461785why>it's not AI or money SAARok i guess apple is just going to tell the entire professional market to piss up a rope and use a laptop for literally everythingthey could make a version of the mac pro that's smaller, isn't in a cheese grater, and- Oh wait they did that and put it in a fucking garbage can. Why apple, why can't you just make something normal that costs something reasonable?
>>108461969Not iToddler/10.Happy? Not sure what you're wanting, since they're right. Apple's ARM chips are basically going into iPhones now, and shit like the "Nano" for their "computer" hardware is just glorified iPhone chips/hardware.You're literally buying Apple for the "status" now and not their BSD spin (OS X/XI/whatever they're calling it now).
>>108461808The M4 series would work wonders on a larger, expanded mainboard with better cooling and overclocked specs but they don't want to do it: because then they would have to compete with the macbook pro which they get better margins onit's all just greed and stupidity eating the tech world alive.
>>108461989tbf those m series chips are great, they could easily expand them to make a power user model except power users don't use macs anymore.
you guys try way too hard to shit on apple for no reasonno one wants big piece of shit computers anymoreI'm sorry if that bruises your ego for some reason
>>108462244tpbp
>>108462244>no one wants big piece of shit computers anymoreExcept gamers and people who actually do work. Neither category applies to apple usersI've had so many 3090s, 4090s, and recently two 5090s pass through my hands for businesses I work for, all in big Dell towers
>>108461785Mac Pro was honestly kinda pointless since its main benefit (expansion) had literally no support.
>>108461785>'We're the last company in this industry who still give a shit about making good computers'>S. Jobs, 1999 - >>108462266not any more, you ain't.the Pro probably no longer even registered on The Gay Beancounter's Big Excel Sheet.
It was inevitable but still kind of a shame, the Mac Pro 1,1 - 5,1 were the best computers they ever made
>>108461785always has been
>>108461798lolApple loves doing this kind of shitthey have no long-term gameplanthrowing dildos at a whiteboard like that old VICE parody
>>108461870that's the bizarre part, what even do people use in them now? if there at least existed nvidia GPU drivers, that would be one thingbut nopeI can only imagine it's some super expensive OWC peripheral or just old ass cards that were intended for x86 mac pros that by some miracle got updated driver support ... for awhile
>>1084619695'11"6' bone pressed82 kilograms140+ IQ
gentlemen, BEHOLD
>>108461785didn't they make it because of bunch of videofags screamed for 'muh upgradability' for pcie cards and shit. Surprised it lasted this long, no one cares about self repair and upgrade in media business, not even in industrial corpaland
Bummer but it was only a matter of time. Such a cool looking machine, shame.
>discontinuing the only Mac with PCIe slotsWonderful.
>>108461785Not surprised. Mac Studio does basically everything that the Mac Pro does and only really lack the PCIe expansion slots which only work for a handful hyper niche expansion boards that virtually nobody needs. I don't expect them to support Nvidia/AMD/Intel GPUs, but if they at least made M-series co-processor boards for the Mac Pro that would be great. If they made proper desktop high power processors based on the Apple Silicon architecure and made the motherboards and expansion boards using them that would be awesome and would genuinelly justify the MacPro desktop form factor.
>>108462295>people who actually do workExcept that 99% of the "work" that is being done on computers around the world is still the same braindead combination of emails, excel, ms-word, google-searches and PDFs that has been happening for the last 30 years since the internet killed fax machines, and that work can be done on a Neo.
>>108461870This. PC Desktop, Mac Laptop is a really cozy setup.
>>108463151>cozyWhat is wrong with you retards? You have to infantilize everything. Your laptop has to be cozy and comfy, like a warm blanket. It's a silver laptop with bad cooling.
>>108463191because you're talking to a man who thinks he's a woman and thinks technology only exists to help him masturbate
>>108463191>>108463209It’s a pretty based setup. There, better? Why are you getting your panties in a knot over words? This isn’t Reddit. Fuck.
>>1084619699.11 inches
>>108461785Proof that Mac is not for Pros.
overkill cheese grater
>>108461785apple's mobile-tier chips aren't "pro" class at all
>>108461785This thing was literally updated only 3 times in the last 13 years, and it costs thousands more than Mac Studio, which has better specs. The only thing Mac Pro has going on for itself is PCIe slots, but you can't even attach a dedicated GPU. It was always gonna die, Mac Studio supports PCIe over Thunderbolt 5
>>108462571why two fakes tho
>>108462571Behold, the 4chan
>>108461785The Mac Studio is more powerful than the Mac Pro while also being much more compact.
It made no sense that the most expensive Mac was also the only Mac without ray tracing hardware acceleration.
>>108461980>ok i guess apple is just going to tell the entire professional market to piss up a rope and use a laptop for literally everythingHave you never heard of a Mac Studio
>>108461980the trashcan mac pro was apple telling their pro market to piss off. the 2019 mac pro was a short lived apology. they finally did it with apple silicon and the mac studio.
>>108461785Why buy a mac pro when you can just buy a tower of mac mini/studio units?
>>108461980>entire professional marketwhat market? apple has an astounding 8% or less percent of the computer market. computers only make up to 20 or 30% of apple's profits, and that's diminishing every year.
>>108464759wtf do the 12,000 wandering around Steve's Ring DO all fucking day?>we so NEED a new colour for the AirPod Maximum Markup Edition darlings.. have we done Neon Fuchsia already? At some point, you become just a toy company. Purveyor of endless, overpriced tat.
>>108464850>wtf do the 12,000 wandering around Steve's Ring DO all fucking day?not much>At some point, you become just a toy company. Purveyor of endless, overpriced tat.if apple didn't have iphone they would have went bankrupt 20+ years ago. entire corporation relies on iphone to keep it profitable. it no longer takes computers seriously at all and when they do they're trying to rape people's wallets for a computer main board that isn't much bigger than two packs of chewing gum and 90% of the inside is battery.
>>108461785Average IQ of Apple user is 75 !!!Sooo.....!!!
>>108464759Sad, their laptops are the best value products of Apple, priced reasonably competitively
