>google search so bad i literally dont know how to use ituh am i getting filtered?
>>108463913Did you really need to make this thread?
>>108463913Google has gotten so bad because of/for AI, so imo no.
>>108463947yeah. What thread do you wanna make? you should make it
>>108463913I use brave search now, it seems to work a little better
You're not imagining it, Google search has been getting progressively worse, it's essentially a black box with no clear connection between input and output. I remember long ago Google denied that they're substituting your query for what they "think" you meant, but I doubt they even pretend these days.
>yeah you put quotes around your search string but are you reaaaally sure you didn't mean something else?fuck off
>>108463913Is that cat diabetic?
>>108463913no they just use all capacity for AI so everything google lags now
>>108463983Thanks, ChatGPT...
Youtube search results has been looping the more I scroll
>>108464082ye you can see the cataracts developing
>>108463913for all the hate chatgpt&co gets, it at least diminishes by search time 10 fold.
>>108463913>he uses GoogleFound your issue
>>108464239this, Bing is the real men's choice.
>>108463913nah, it's just how it is now. google sends you through a maze of ai generated articles and ads or reddit posts. long gone are the days where a poorly constructed query would lead you to some obscure garage forum and the hero post that solves your problem. this has nothing to do with everyone having migrated from forums to discord.
>>108463913No it's actively gotten worse and worse. Just use AI as a search engine replacement at this point.
>>108464235that's the point, they broke search to make people want ai
>>108464288instead everyone will go to bing
>>108463913Come home, White Man.
what does /g/ think of qwant?
>>108463913they nudge you towards Gemini
>>108463913Googles AI search is great, and I'm tired of pretending otherwise.
>>108463913yes they make it bad on purpose because if you find what you want, you stop searching
>>108463913Google is no longer a search engine. Search engines no longer exist. You need to internalize the fact that the era of being able to search for things is over.
>>108463947This
>>108464220You realise chatgpt was trained on actual human rhetoric, no?
Google still beats everybody else
>>108465439[Bing giggles in the distance]
>>108464982I literally always change the query until it give an AI summary
>>108463913Nope. I stopped using it maybe 2 years ago? I’ve started doing searches within websites, like actually going to Wikipedia and typing in what I want to see instead of using google as the relay.
>>108463947How else will he find answers? Google?
>>108465482Tried bing a few times, didn't show much at all
>>108464329I want to go back
>>108464329>yahooI mean, you could be way off worse
>>108468640>yahooThat pic (c. 1999) predates Yahoos purchase and eventual murder of AltaVista, would have still been an entirely separate engine at that stage. Ironically both Yahoo and your picrel backend are (afaik) the atrocious Bing now.
>>108464329I remember using this to look up naked pictures of sailor moon
>>108464329>AltaVista>Netscape>Real NetworksNone of this aged well.
Never forget.
Pretty much every web search, including those for shopping sites, are so bogged down with sponsored ads, links, and AI content that they've become completely unusable.
