If you have to use a pre-made one then Mullvad.
NordVPN is probably the worst of them all.
>>
>>108465831
Guys, OP is talking about local VPNs,
The ones hosted at your homelap to connect local services to another and make them usable on public internet
A more secure alternative to port forwarding, not an actual VPN services that hide your system's IP
>>
for VPNing purposes? Mullvad
for accessing your home net somewhere else? something like tailscale
>>
>>108465831
I use headscale. Pretty cozy wiring up all my computers.
>>
>>108465831
Headscale's cool, never heard of netbird. Advertise to me OP
>>
Wireguard

Wouldnt call headscale a vpn, its a zero trust network solution
>>
>>108465831
Wireguard.
Use wg-easy to avoid dealing with bullshit and generate the client configs/manage routes automatically.
>>
>>108468189
this
all this other crap is retardation layered on top of wireguard
>>
>>108466029
>>108467581
Doesn't mullvad only serve shared IP's that likely have been flagged everywhere? Just like nord and the normie providers. Cant create accounts, post here or do much except basic browsing
>>
>>108468757
That's mainly because of indians and the like, geoblock the third world from these VPN services and it all goes away
>>
>>108467894
>>108468137
Do you guys use a VPS to set up Headscale or just use a home server?
>>
>>108468783
Homelab. I only use a small vps for an email relay since my isp blocks port 25. Funny enough the email relay uses tailscale too to connect to my email server (mailcow) running on my homelab.
>>
>>108468771
Or partner with a vpn company that provides more than just shared ips
>>
>>108469230
-who in turn can't be trusted
>>
I despise these fucking retarded eceleb parroting jeets that dont know the difference between a vpn and a proxy
>>
>>108465831
>mfw you dont have a fixed ip and just use openvpn
>>
>>108465831
netbird is better imo
>>
>>108466029
Dude, you don't understand the subject...
Neither nord nor mullvad are alternatives / equivalent to netbird / headscale.
>>
>>108465831
Mine is the best. Makes it super easy to connect to my stuff as well as ensure my DNS traffic is still filtered by my piholes even when I'm not home.
>>
>>108465919
It is a good idea but it's a bit of a gamble if you go for cheap ones. Not to mention that they could be unhappy if they start getting DMCA requests. Big VPN providers do know how to properly ignore those, but VPS providers may be completely unexperienced. I rented a cheap VPS (torchbyte) for 20$ per year and hosted wireguard VPN for myself, but it was so shite I gave up after 3 months and went back to 120$ / 2 years VPN I already used in past.

why would you want all your traffic to be slow as fuck just to have security by obscurity
>>

can any?
>>
>>108465831
wireguard server that runs on your router + a custom domain where you periodically write your external ip address as an A/AAAA record with a script

Get fucked basically.

Mullvad and Windscribe are the only 2 vpn providers that have been resilient to real world police action
Mullvad has had the police in sweden knock on their door to get all their user info but left after realizing they don't have any
Windscribe has had servers seized in ukraine and the netherlands but the respective authorities couldn't extract any logs at all and thus just wasted their time
>>
>>108465831
>tfw behind CGNAT
>must use those
Which one to use?
I don't even need it to have full access I just want to have access to a single container how to pull this?
>>
>>108472049
Ik mullvad doesn't but does windscribe provide dedicated residentials?
>>
>>108472281
You can buy residentials yeah
>>
so buying two years of Proton was a waste?
