I think the other thing might be oil prices because of Trump's war (need oil for plastic manufacturing) and the tariffs affecting profits from the US market. The Japanese PlayStation market is relatively small compared to Europe and NA. And I'm sure Sony makes a profit from every PS5 sold but nothing near what Nintendo makes. If you really want to play AAA slop I suggest just getting a Switch 2 or PC by this point.
