for me it's Cannon Lake, aka Intel's first attempt at getting 10nm out the door. there's only one CPU under that name, the i3-8121U. it's a dual-core and they had to disable the iGPU since yields were so bad.picrel is the inside of an Ideapad that had one. Lenovo had to add a dedicated 50W TDP GPU (RX540) since the integrated one didn't work. very funny to me.https://web.archive.org/web/20240302033324/https://www.anandtech.com/show/13405/intel-10nm-cannon-lake-and-core-i3-8121u-deep-dive-review/
Why an archive.org link?Did they really take down this review lmao
>>108467060yes they did. i was only able to get the internal photo from using archive.org. the reddit post which linked to the original page now just sends you to the forum's homepage.
>>108467039> Steam Controller 1Valves problem with this is how much configuration it takes to get it right ootb. Thankfully community profiles get it most of the way there. Once a game is configured it's an impressively awesome controller. Too far ahead of its time and definitely a learning platform. The touchpads on the steamdeck are game changing. I'm hoping steam controller 2 is basically a steam deck in controller form factor.
good thread
>>108467039I have an i3-8145U Whisker Lake CPU.
>>108467039obligatory
>>108467039>what's your favorite tech-related flop?AI

The liquid cooled Power Mac G5, I still think it looks amazing.

>>108467039>highend camera company who makes $100k digital cameras wants to make a cellphone>they know cameras, so decide to build the phone first and do the camera last>going to be a flagship with the latest tech, and features not on any other phone>project runs way over time, by the time they're nearing completion with the phone they're nearly a year late and the SoC is already a generation behind>have to ship the phone asap, no time to make a camera for it so they just get off the shelf Sony cameras>$1200 phone (in 2018) with a year old SoC from a camera company with a middling cameraIt bombed so hard I was able to pick one up for <$200 just 6 months after it came out (which for the specs was an insane deal). They also started slapping them onto their highend cameras as viewfinders because they couldn't get rid of them.
>>108467039what were they fucking thinking
>>108468300Did they have any kind actual vision for it beyond "wow it's red branded and it's gonna have an awesome camera!!!"?
>>108468698Glasses-free 3D screen and cameras, and they were planning add-ons (there's 4 screw holes and a connector on the back) like different camera modules/lenses and a battery pack but they cancelled all of them when no one bought the phone.
>>108467060>Did they really take down this review lmaoshit's gone
>>108467109The configuration for the Steam controller was a massive problem sure, but I'll never forget that first moment I got mine in my hand and thought.... what the fuck is this light, cheap plastic pos. The thing looked great but holy fuck did it feel like some chinesium knock off brand controller when you hold it. Kinda reminded me of holding those crap Microsoft Sidewinder controllers.
>>108467592i believe you posted the wrong one. all of mine with liquid cooling only have one G5 on that cooler cover thing.
