That's definitely a phone with a selfie camera and main camera, not a portable POS.
So yeah he uses a POS case as a phone case for some reason and I can think of several:
- He likes using his phone on a desk and the angle helps him see the screen.
- It's some kind of joke.
- He's a scammer with a fake POS app on his phone that records people's PIN and magnetic card info (luckily chips cannot be read that way).
