is freelancing doable if i just do a udemy course/ read a book for a beginner with 0 experience or education or connections?

programming has high earning potential long-term, but i genuinely don't know if that's even accessible to someone starting from zero with no real work experience. it might just not be a viable option for me at all, not because it's harder, but because the door might not exist.

not anymore
you should have gotten a proper education instead of falling for 'school is for losers' meme

Have you read any news the last two years??

>has high earning potential long-term,
Sure if you started as a child and have been in the industry for 10+ years. Fresh grads and no-degrees don't have a hope unless they're rocking an insane portfolio (aka started as a child)

dont listen to the trannies. if you enjoy programming keep getting good at it

Great hobby, just don't expect to get a paying job.

What if I have a bachelors in comsci (useless) + 5 years of "experience" of copy pasting python server code and in recent years copy pasting react code from language models?

I don't actually like my job or want to learn

Can I freelance?

If you already have a job, you can try to freelance at the same time. If anyone hires you, you can do that work when you're not doing your real job. If this is too much effort, you're doing well and can quit your current job. Don't quit until people are hiring you for freelance work, however.

People hire freelance programming because it's cheap, and it's getting cheaper with every Indian getting a subsidized ai subscription. You're not cheap are you?

have you considered getting into testing/QA instead of entry level development?
>>

school is for losers, i went from senior software engineer to CTO and didn't go to university lmao.

There is no way humans invented spears but hunted naked

A spear is just a stick bro. Chimps use basic tools and they're not making clothes any time soon.

The pay for those seems worse. For me it's all about the money.
