Why did this become acceptable in monitors? CRTs didn't have this issue 50 years ago. It's like the industry has spent the last 25 years coming up with shitty half-baked gimmicks to try to imitate the picture quality of CRTs and failing every time.

I actually disabled local dimming because it definitely was noticeable all the time and I'd rather have a bit of even lightbleed than those ugly splotches. On top of it the monitor did some retarded constant dimming that drove me up the wall. For example when I had white window open in one corner and opened another white window in the other corner you could see the other window slightly turn dimmer for whatever reason. Drove me nuts and it was part of some retarded "ENHANCEMENT" that I deactivated.
Everything just turns shittier by the day for no reason.
