>>108477076I had two Octanes and O2s plus purple Indigo 2 and Indy. Octane was used as a daily driver. Still kick myself that I needed to let these go because of life situation etc. Now these are pretty hard and stupidly expensive to come by.

much prefer the older f-84w over the f-91w. would be cool to find one with an amber light.
>>108477119What's aesthetically pleasing about this piece of Chink rubber dogshit with shitty decals slapped on it?
>>108477087Industrial PCs and older amplifiers had this look. It's a nice look. I have an old 100W amp that came out of an arcade machine that looks more or less like that.

I have the same Sony TC200 "portable" reel to reel recorder/player. I'm to lazy to pull it out and take pictures but it still works though.

>>108477076Sleeper build in an Indigo case would be cool.
>>108479298That's just a slab of boring, cold metal.
>>108479307I feel like sleepers are useless when you're going to be using a modern monitor anyway and maybe a gaming mouse.
>>108479298Still the best PC case IMO. I want to buy one, ATX mod it and powder coat it matte black or anodize it. Either way.Right now I've got an Enthoo Evolv X which is the closest I could find

I had a dream that I had this.
CaseLabs cases were some of the best around for both form and function. The color here is a custom one-off though , but this is one of the only pictures I've seen of a S8 that has the pedestal add-on and the extended 36mm top. I actually have this model with black exterior and white interior, but no pedestal .
>>108479298Apple hates this and wants to remove it from historical records.
We had a bunch of Indys at one of the sites I work at but they got rid of them during a big system upgrade.Pity. Myself and one of my colleagues were saying we wanted to bid on them if they ever went up for auction in the aftermath.

and now, one of the rarities of the oldfag days - WiNDY Soldam cases. These were basically made and sold only in Japan during the 2000s, so even enthusiasts who wanted them couldn't likely get them without paying exorbitant straw purchase fees.

Now a LianLi that I owned - the ARMORSUIT P-80! This was back in the day when a LianLi or a Silverstone would be ALL aluminum, not just the fascia on the front. ARMORSUIT was a super tower with a door that hid the fans, as well as a fuckload of 5.25" bays (or a radiator if you so chose).

Did you ever want a pair of headphones that cost as much as a luxury sedan? Sennheiser Orpheus (this is the new model, the old models all have their own unique looks) are approximately $50K.
>>108479961original HE90 Orpheus version from the 90s that were like 15K back in the day. Oh and the recent one above, apparently all the tubes basically rise up out of the marble base when you turn the thing on as part of a power up sequence.

>>108480344Did the MD drive work for data?
>>108480818With the included software (OpenMG Jukebox), it was basically limited to transferring music from PC to MD, it didn't even allow MD to PC downloads. I would have to imagine some enterprising person came up with a work-around, though. https://www.minidisc.org/brian_youn/mzn1/page3.html

Sony ICD-UX570 Digital Voice Recorder
>>108481660>e-waste>majority of devices posted could be serviced easily
>>108480579>>108480914Sony went hard with a lot of cool looking stuff that was chrome or brushed metal. >>108481682I love the design of this, but I cant tell if it would feel cheap or sturdy.
>>108481580Same. Wish I'd stockpiled a bunch of them.
>>108481766Both at the same time, amazingly enough. It's 1/5 taller, 1/5 wider, and 2/3 the thickness of a bic lighter, so the despite the pbt plastic, you can tell that you could break it if you threw it really hard, but you'd definitely have to do something on purpose. Tons of features. Crystal clear sound. You can use it to listen to music, wear a wire to a drug deal, record a board room meeting, blackmail someone, record a musical instrument, record phone calls with the line in. There's options.
>>1084817991/5, 2/3, -2/3

>>108481127it actually isn't
>>108477221Is that a tube camera? The cheaper ones were very trippy
>>108479772I think they actually made a production version of this you could buy. Spring-loaded and everything. Except, for some reason, it couldn't send or receive SMS messages. At all. Even though it was a 2G phone.

the model 1 genesis is the most aesthetic console. 2nd place goes to the original playstation. I really wish I had a model 1 sega CD to go along with the model 1 genny and complete the look, but instead I have a model 2 CD that only looks okay with the model 2 genny, so I keep that hooked up separately.

I liked this gayphone design so much
Silverstone SUGO SG01-E(volution). Excellent little micro(uATX) case. The E revision is pretty much the best one as it has the most features and unlike the later F revision and the SG02, it has a nearly full aluminum body, not just the front panel. This is back in the day when LianLi and Silverstone's mid to high end cases were full aluminum, rather than steel and plastic with some aluminum accents.

>>108479742The first time I riced out a device was running nova launcher to make my note 2 look like one of the sharp Evangelion phones
>>108490351pisses me off to no end what happened to nova
>>108490351I remember that. The sequel to the one I posted was an Android smartphone type but had the same sort of NERV theming. I remember the launcher's skin as well! I think the most recent Eva collab phone was some Oppo one, but only in China. Looks like Unit 01, pic related. There was also a smartwatch in Asuka / Unit 02 colors and poor Rei / Unit 00 just got wireless earbuds. >>108490360As I recall its a proprietary one. I think that Lawnchair is perhaps one of the best FOSS ones with capability on the same level as Nova back in the day and others with 'pro' variations.
>>108490021Keep considering making a model of a Cray with a Pi Zero in each of the segments but can't really think of any use of a Pi Zero cluster.
>>108490446i installed lawnchair through i think fdroid and i literally cannot uninstall it. i havent tried adb yet but i dont really care enough yet to try. i was very unimpressed by its features.>>108490510ooooo, thatd fit perfectly on a desk or a coffee table. i could see it being the main node in a light homelab, run it as a router/firewall/dns server/media server cache. it wouldnt be powerful at all, but itd be beautiful.
>>108490529>lawnchairCan't uninstall? That seems odd. Why can't you uninstall it? Did you use some sort of root mode install et? There's also a different playstore branch that I think conflicts or is limited in some ways because they need to gimp it to go along with PlayStore requirements. Make sure its the newest branches though. I know there are some on fdroid that are old V1 and V2 branches, where the latest ones are on Lawnchair3's bbase I think, but use numbered builds up to Lawnchair16 (which is in beta - the latest releases are in the 15.x versions)
>>108490809its version 15.Beta 1. appinfo is claiming it was downloaded from fennec which is probably what i did. ill probably just nuke it with adb whenever i care enough.
