I had to replace a failed M.2 NVMe SSD in my laptop. If it was soldered, I would have to pay Apple hundreds of dollars just to replace a $50 SSD.

I've replaced M.2 drives, upgraded RAM and WiFi cards in several times in the last 5 years. Oh and a battery. I'm probably unironically going to get a Framework as my next laptop also.
