What does COSMIC do different than other desktop environments? It doesn't really change how you use your computer, you still have to alt-tab like KDE and Cinnamon. It feels like it doesn't bring anything fresh... ? At least GNOME is unique with the overview button
>>108486162Nothing for now. We have to wait for the Epoch 2 release at the end of the year
>you still have to alt-tab like KDE and CinnamonWhat does this even mean? There's fuckloads of ways to switch windows. Do you specifically want the broken alt-tab that GNOME has? The one that skips lots of windows because they're part of the same "app"?
>gnome filled with AIDS no, thanks
>>108486162it literally feels like GNOME but with more customization options.
>>108486162>do weekly updates>more than one month since the last oneit's dead.
I kinda hope they fix their vertical panel game, kde's also suck major ass
One of the most notable things it does that KDE or GNOME doesn't out of the box is include an automatic tiling mode you can toggle from a simple drop down menu. It bridges the gap between a tiling window manager and a regular desktop. In most respects it's basically GNOME but with a bunch of extensions built in natively so you aren't relying on one random retard on the internet keeping up with upstream just to have a functioning clipboard manager. Seriously fuck the entire concept of extensions.
>>108488908they were rebasing iced release and are updating libcosmic. that's a lot of crap to go through.
>>108486422That's what GNOME with extensions is. Literally.
