fox <3Anyways I finally managed to send Joe that fucking down payment through Wise. So that's like 1/6th of what I have to cough up, no backing down now.
WHICH tactiles do I get TODAYthere are too many options
STOP posting racist fox
>>108493504go fuck yourself alreadyyou lack the will to sample the lot and find your true tactile love
>>108493817name some good tactile switches and I'll try them if they're sold by the same vendor
>$999 to have this thing on your desk

Okay. I've learned my lesson. I won't fail to bake a new thread (out of laziness) ever again.
>lubed nylons
>>108493504Cherry Blues on Alu
Any full-width wristrests worth a damn on Ali? Maybe some wooden ones? Wood grain would go well with my carpet mat.
>>108493291Seggs
>>108494277I understand.
>>108494277that's a fox, you know
>>108494263fuck your carpetjust get one of those gamer wrist rests from Razer or whateverthey offer peak comfort over bullshit like metal or wooden rests
>>108494471That's the best part.
>>108494531I'd be fine with a hard wristrest, I'm lazy and I don't feel like keeping my hands up for a proper typing position.
>>108493504https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/products/greetech-brown-50g-tactile8 cents per switch, scratchier than MX Browns
>>108494531metal sucks because its cold but wood is great
What do you do with all thee extra key switches you aren't using anymore?
>>108494891I keep them in bags in an old cookie tin
>>108494692why not get the real deal>Cherry MX2A-GUNW Unlubed Browns>lubed with TriboSys 3204 on stems>TX Films 0.15mm>TX 18mm 60g springs (bag lubed with Krytox GPL105)>Galatea CEM-3 1.6mm solder PCB>Alu 1.0mm half plate>clipped and lubed Cherry stabs with Geon wires>DCS beige keycaps
>>1084949468 cents per switch is less than $10 to do a full board. 1/5 the price of Cherry. t. currently have 200 unused cherry browns stocked up for future boards
websites don't even give you force curves or reviews anymore they just say "it's a good switch sir"
when you tune your stabs, you are in fact being trained to play with cumyou just don't know it yet
>>108495009The fact that nobody does force curves is so maddening. If they don't have the tech to do them, fine, whatever, but at the very least if you're trying to sell me a tactile I want to know:- Is the bump light, medium, or heavy?- Does the bump start at the top, or after some pre-travel?- Is the bump long and round, or short and sharp?Tell me all this plus the spring weight/length and I can at least make an informed decision about whether it's the kind of switch I'm interested in buying.
>>108494471I was already sold, no need to sell me further.
I can't stop fantasizing about using MX Blacks in 3 different wayssame goes for MX BrownsI live for Cherry
Ok so I guess it's harder to replace a USB port than I figured...
>>108495280Yeah uhh that looks like that PCB is FUBAR
>>108495280mangled that up good, you did
>>108495280I wouldn't even try to desolder fine pitch SMD components with several legs without a hot air station for exactly this reason.
which fucking switches won't take inputs unless actually pressed? i'm losing my mind here with resting my fingers on the keys
>>108495372Buckling spring
>>108495372Use heavier springs.
>>108495372you fell for the light switch memeAny switch below 50g of actuation force is for women and sissies
>>108495372MX Blacks with triple stage 60g springs
>>108495372HE switches configured in software to only register presses when fully bottomed out
if your switches have a stupid name I'm not even gonna consider themwhat fucking person can say "Yea my keyboard has Akko creamy blue pro v5 switches" with a straight face
>>108495873#keychronthockgang
is the Type-R considered a heavy switch? 60g bottom out, 55 operating force, but also only 3mm travel distance, I play games and want to avoid something that'll fatigue my fingers
>>108496222No adult man will be fatigued by any switch no matter the weight or travel distance.
>>108496222it's all just preferencessome people make themselves sensitive enough to ~5g differencesmost people are okay with anything below 70gjust. buy. a. sample. pack. of. different. switches. and. be. fucking. free. of. it.
>>108496296okay badasslet's see you type with these springs
>>108496222I play with melodics and those have a similar actuation force and there isn't any problem
>>108493291Thank you for posting the funny fox and brightening my day a little in-between boring stuff like studying x and researching y :)I love mechanical keyboards! They're one of the main reasons why I could never own a laptop (yes I know some have pseudo-mechanical KBs but they're just not the same)
>>108494277She's really, really, racist.
Assume I have to pick one of the following linear switches, price is the same for all:Gateron yellow pro (no idea which version)Epomaker flamingoEpomaker wisteria linearWhat's the best switch, quality-wise here?I'd say the gaterons but then again I've been out of the loop for a while
>>108482908>https://www.amazon.com/BOYI-YK82-Programmable-Gasket-Mounted-Mode-Switching/dp/B0D66VZT4DBought this, arrived todayI'm floored, I have zero complaints about this keyboard, finish is good and the keycaps and switches are good quality and the stabs are good and it's full aluminum. Forty bucks. Goddamn
i think the little programmable keybinds with displays is a pretty neat idea have like a specific shitposting preset, gaming preset etcetra
>>108497011He already said he wants her, you don't have to keep selling him on her!>>108497649It's a shame they seem to have run out of that color. The only ones remaining don't look very good imo

Thoughts on Leobog A75? Saw one listed at 60 bucks
>>108497728No numpad = the keyboard at the center of the monitor = more comfortable typing.>just center a regular keyboard Less space for the mouse. If you absolutely need a numpad having it on the left is better.

>>108499464>Less space for the mouseGet a trackball if you're gonna be desktop surfing anyways. I instead got an MX Master 3S that's about to arrive.
I spent $65 to order a GMK104 which is $10-$15 more over a GMK108 for my silent build, how badly did I fuck up on the off-chance the screen is an annoyance more than an asset?
GET OUT OF MY HEAD
>>108500764heh, funny
Noo, don't leave! :(

Not keyboards but I picked up my brand new MX Master 3S and yeah it's worth the price alright, super comfy compared to my worn-out G502
>>108499902Not much of a fuck-up, that's a really good barebones
nice feet bro
are glorious pandas good? they're like $0.55 a switch, $1 each if lubed
3 years now I've owned a Varmilo VA Series V2 Koi Bluetooth and I love it.I thought I'd hate having a wireless keyboard but this battery only needs charged once a year, I'm not exaggerating. Latency is imperceptible. Silent Cherry keys, it feels soooo good and doesn't CLICK-CLACK like other mechanicals.I don't know where this keyboard ranks for any of you but it's always been reliable for me.
