Because someone mentioned it in a previous thread I want to talk about this subject.>Usecase for 2d printing? That is actually a very good question consideringhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV0M9_NwMHYAndhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQGtucrJ8hMAre common complaints about printers in the 2000s>Usecase for 2d printing? This is a good question in my life in the 2000s I printed/photo copied graphics that I put into my jewel cases for the games on CD/DVD that I did have. I once on the early internet printed out a entire PDF of some guy talking about physics concepts because access to the internet computer was restricted.I remember printing my CVs and giving it to businesses back in the day!And that is it.I never really used a 2D printer even in the 2000s. SO....WTF do people do with 2D printers even?I remember my dad printing out every important e-mail he got... This can be a thing businesses used printers for....So in the year of our unix 2026(it is exactly 1774971693 or ~1.774 Giga Unix you heathens) what are 2D printers actually good for? And this is a general 2D printer good for not you owning a printer that is another question.1) Printing out these A4 pages people stick on things.Like>Toilet out of order>Do not turn on the lights>Do not flip this switchAnd putting it on with office tapeAlso all the>My cat is missing have you seen itWith picture of the cat A4s people place outside in a protective coating. Except for the cat photo all of them can be done by you writing on paper.1/?
>>108493660>>1084936602) Map info or instructionsYea this is like something you can do by writing on paper however if you are lazy or do not want to make mistakes a printer can help. Also crucial in businesses! Before smart phones it is a fast way to give instructions to your employees. The benefit here is that if they drop a smart phone or tablet someone will be very angry if they drop the paper no one is.Also these instructions need to copied without error and fast so doing it by hand is out of the question.3) Printing out important e-mailsThe benefit I think is that they will not be so easily damaged then a computer who can crap up or get file corruption.I am reaching here however....4) Distributing your own books. I mean in the era of burning a CD this is questionable at best however you can print out multiple copies of your 400 page manifesto and distribute it or pamphlets.Yes they will have that office printer shit quality however they exist.4) Like 3D printers who are mostly used for so piracy.Like the most use case of 3D printers is printing out figurines for manchild games or tabletop. They do it because the official figurines are overpriced plastic. In the same way there is something called a PROXY in MTG basically what that is is you printing out MTG cards on your printer because the official cards are expensive as FUCK! You print them out and put them into the card slaves where some random card like a MTG land card (you can get 100s of them for free) and it works almost like a real card for play in your paper game.5) Like the above however you can make your own game with your own game ideas and play this paper game. 2/2
I'll just keep printing, thanks.
>>108493660I just outsource all my 2d printing to local shops, not worth the time to operate a printer or maintain it or set it up.
>>108493931>I just outsource all my 2d printing to local shops, not worth the time to operate a printer or maintain it or set it up.Basically this.If I need something printed and it is like 5 prints in 1 year max I simply go and pay for them to print it.I have one at home however that shit constantly bitches about cartridges and buying new ones costs more then getting a shop to do it for me!>I just outsource all my 2d printing to local shops,What do yo ueven print?Last I printed like 4 copies (because what if I fuck up in writing) of some legal bullshit that I needed to fill out and send by snail mail.
>>108493660>Usecase for 2d printing?I'm a hobby book binder. I typeset my own books and print the signatures for binding.
>>108493968>cartridgesThey're a scam, get an ink tank printer.
>>108493660We should have printing service in convenience stores, like Japan, but since the West has collapsed and the streets are full of shit and zombies, it's literally impossible.
You can still buy a moderately cheap brother b&w laser printer that accept 3rd party cartridges and will outlast you. Just do it soon as everything gets worse all the time.
