what if AI genned code was forced to be open source
any software made with AI code should be forced to be open source itself. Companies will think twice about using AI code in their shit unless they want to share it with the community who's code was learned upon.
>>108495714It should be if you think about it. Training is officially done on open source software only. Most of which probably is GPL-something loicensed. So you cannot really hide whatever software you created from that GPL-loicensed code. Sometimes you can pretend you have written it from scratch. But not with AI models that were trained almost exclusively on open srouce software. It is strange how nobody talks about it. Maybe open source community is a bit more cunning than artists and planns to hit corpos with lawsuits after AI-bubble pops. So that CEOs would be forced to sell their yachts or something. GPL-fags are often commies after all.

>>108495714LLM generated code is public domain. By open source, do you mean an obligation to publicly publish? Because public domain is less restrictive than any open source license. It's likely that anything LLM generated cannot be FOSS because all FOSS licenses are invalid when something is public domain.
