What the actual fck is going on with FFmpeg? They’re transitioning to Rust, of all languages. Rust! The absolute state of this fcking industry. We used to have a perfectly good C-based project, lean, fast, reliable—hell, that's why we loved it.But now, suddenly, it's being hijacked by a bunch of Rust-obsessed fanboys who think every damn project has to be rewritten in this bloated garbage heap of a language. Yeah, sure, Rust is "safe" and all that, but who the fck asked for that in a tool like FFmpeg? It's a command-line video processing tool, not a fcking safety net for a daycare. We need performance, not a bunch of shiny memory safety nonsense that just makes everything slower and harder to maintain.I can’t believe I’ve spent years working with this, learning all the ins and outs of C and ffmpeg’s API just for it to be thrown away for Rust? This is literally the opposite of what FFmpeg was about. It was lean, mean, and efficient. It wasn’t about wrapping everything in a bunch of unnecessary abstractions and "safety" that just slows the whole f*cking thing down.And don’t get me started on the people behind this decision.
