do you lock your computer when you go afk?
No.
yeah but i don't like that it logs this event
>>108505080I just have my lock on resume and enable my screen saver to run at certain times, so that if I go away too long, it automatically locks.
>>108505080Always. It's like locking your door.
>>108505080I just turn off the screen
>>108505080I worked in the defense industry for 8 years. Yes, I lock every computer or device the moment I'm stepping away from it. Its built into the muscle memory of my hands.

>>108505080No.>>108505128I don't lock my door either.
>>108505080At work, yes. At home I specifically let it on so I can see while walking past if anyone sent me a message.
>>108505080No, I don't even have a password on my pc.
Usually there isn't really a point, whether it's because nobody will touch it or because I don't have anything risky within reach. But my mom knows I'm into anime girls kissing and stuff so I don't have much of a reason to give a shit in general.
>>108505080only person i live with is my wife, and she knows the password so why would i
>>108505244Your wife remembers passwords? I have to tape notes to all of the devices...
>>108505252She is into tech (SE).
>>108505080No because I have a gun.
>>108505128Do you lock your door whenever you walk away from it?
it started because i hate screensavers/dpms. they should have a visible countdown before they enable. especially dpms turning off the screen. when that happens and you're actually at the computer it takes like 15 seconds to turn back on. so, i turned all that shit off and manually turn off the screen when i step away. naturally adding screen locking to that was easy. it's a good habit.
>>108505080normies don't know how to use my window manager so i don't bother locking anything. i just switch to an empty workspace
Yep, years of corporate security training has been beat into my skull.
>>108505080auto lock on a 10 minute timer if I'm in the area, manual lock if I'm leaving to go elsewhere.
No I live alone and nobody ever comes into my apartment except me.
>>108505480Still no reason to not lock it.
>>108505486Will the ghosts access my computer when I go to take a leak?If I'm not at home, my computer is turned off
no because I hate having to put in a pin or some dumb shit that requires a keyboard when I wake it up remotely
>>108505486What if he has a gun?
