I need to transfer a CPU to a different motherboard, is this a dangerous exercise?

...

Gawd, by today's standards this kind of looks like an AI image. The only saving grace is I know it comes from the Windows 7 era...

If it's a normal desktop CPU, should be easy and completely safe. If it's an EPYC or something, it might be a bit harder but still safe.
>>
id shit myself if my CPU had pins. hope you're not an AMD guy or your chances of potentially ruining your CPU are greatly increased moving around something carrying fragile little needles.

So AI images are as good as high-quality images from 10 years ago?

Skill concern

When they're manually fixed for all the retarded clanker only issues but no one does that because it's easier to proompt more mid of the road slop

For me, not dangerous at all. For you asking in /g/ consider letting the professionals do it.
>>
>>108512690
Yeah because the motherboard having pins makes it so much better

Yeah, when the guy knows how to use the tool, he can make something nice. The problem with tools that lower the entry barrier, I guess.

it is usually pretty easy just don't bend pins (on the CPU for older CPUs or on the board for newer CPUs)

ask your local chinese kid with tiny hands to do it

But I'm already Chinese.
>>

Easy as pie and the kind of thing that gets easier the more you do it.

I've installed 100+ CPU's and done even more transfers between motherboards. Never once had any issues. Intel and AMD.
Just don't stress it, don't drop it and you're good.
Hell I built my current rig completely while 2/3 deep in a bottle of Dworek.
