I need to transfer a CPU to a different motherboard, is this a dangerous exercise?...Gawd, by today's standards this kind of looks like an AI image. The only saving grace is I know it comes from the Windows 7 era...
>>108512659If it's a normal desktop CPU, should be easy and completely safe. If it's an EPYC or something, it might be a bit harder but still safe.
id shit myself if my CPU had pins. hope you're not an AMD guy or your chances of potentially ruining your CPU are greatly increased moving around something carrying fragile little needles.

>>108512690Skill concern
>>108512700When they're manually fixed for all the retarded clanker only issues but no one does that because it's easier to proompt more mid of the road slop
>>108512659For me, not dangerous at all. For you asking in /g/ consider letting the professionals do it.
>>108512690Yeah because the motherboard having pins makes it so much better
>>108512723>skill issueYeah, when the guy knows how to use the tool, he can make something nice. The problem with tools that lower the entry barrier, I guess.
>>108512659it is usually pretty easy just don't bend pins (on the CPU for older CPUs or on the board for newer CPUs)
>>108512659ask your local chinese kid with tiny hands to do it
>>108512779But I'm already Chinese.
>>108512659Easy as pie and the kind of thing that gets easier the more you do it.
>>108512659I've installed 100+ CPU's and done even more transfers between motherboards. Never once had any issues. Intel and AMD. Just don't stress it, don't drop it and you're good. Hell I built my current rig completely while 2/3 deep in a bottle of Dworek.
>>108512659You'll be fine. It's not that bad.
>>108512690What a profoundly retarded and transparently paid for "concern". Livestream killing yourself.
>>108512690They don't break that easily. Do you have barbarian hands or something?
