Likely part of the price surge was from companies ordering more RAM to secure supply, and then hiking prices of computers and shit, causing less demand, leading to less follow up orders, freeing up more RAM to go into DIMMs and letting that demand get filled more which allowed prices to come back down a bit.
But we're still looking at 2-3x the price for RAM and NAND right now. It's not like that went away overnight.
