>>108519767what do long uptimes necessarily prove? seems like u guys treat it as some badge of honor here or something
>>108519767My server would have an uptime of years if my cat didn't lie down on the power button sometimes. >tfw gotta run upstairs to turn it back on because suddenly my Zigbee remote doesn't turn on the lights anymore
>he fell for the 256gb of ram memengmi lol ramlets
>>108520157High system stability. The average PC is highly unstable and shits itself in 24 hours or less.
>>108521119>gpus from 2004>cpu from 2014>4 channel ddr4 memory>512gb of ramwtf?
>>108521585you wouldn't understand ....no but fr I run for my business a ton of workloads that just spend all their time idling in memory. They barely use any CPU and definitely no GPU. I just need the ram to run em.>inb4 couldn't this be optimized awayyeah but memory is always going to be my bottleneck in traffic spikes also it tripled in value since I bought it so ...
>>108519767No pic but at one job I knew a sysadmin who had aix up for over 7 years
>>108519767do i win?
>>108519767Eat shit. I'm not getting out of bed to take a screenshot of a fetch of specs that haven't changed since 2020
>>108521707>20 days in, still only at 50% capacity of a 64gb kiti'm curious tho, what kind of workloads take up that much fucking memory?
>>108519767i shut my computers off at nightmirin' that platinum theme though, how2get?
>>108521868it's one node in a cluster anon, I have a couple of these. I rotate restarts every week so I never get much uptime. Software is shit, even old stable software is shit. Reboots are good. But yeah for the load, again it's just a ton of small containerized services. Any basic web server will OOM under like 512mb, that's only 2 per gigabyte, ~1000 for 512gigs. I'm more or less running a small hosting/runner provider so all this ram is barely enough.
>>108521931this looks like some kind of os9 clone theme? try looking into that. Either that or one of the older kde ones
