Why do people say EE is any better then CS when it comes to threat from automation? Automated circuit design(which is already done to an extent) is going to be super-charged next.
>>108521443LLMs aren't even useful for analyzing schematics on the basis of netlists yet. I tried a minimal circuit with some deliberate errors and got good results but as soon as the circuit contains a couple of components it completely shits the bed - being less useful than a completely green EE.Turns out designing hardware requires more than looking up shit. The false positives were really funny - showing that LLMs are completely useless in domains that are not 100% text-based and that requires the consideration of things that are trivial for even average engineers like geometry or the limitation of manufacturing methods. There's a reason why even layout is mostly done by hand for anything practical that has to pass EMC testing on the first run.
>>108521443also because actual CS courses are absolute baby tier compared to EEalso lots of EE programs hook you up with cool internships and certs
I wouldn't worry about either being automated any time in the next decade ir two.Doing what you have more of a passion for between those two options is what I would recommend.
