anyone else paranoid about the lifespan of their devices? everything breaks eventually but i think we're all worried tech will just continue to get more unaffordable (+ unreliable) over time, so we should all be hoarding the older long-lasting tech while they're cheap to maximize the lifetime of our devices.thinking of building my first am5... but it seems wiser to spend that money on pcs like picrel.what's the longest you've ever had tech last /g/? what was it? are you hoarding?
I have a 3070 ti and still act surprised when I get defaulted to medium graphics :'(

Some of the ones I owned would freeze, but you just had to not BP them. 30 year old computers. Wow.then there is my 2019 computer I use as a server. I don't know how the CPU works, but it does, and it hasn't died from being turned on all this time...I would stick with AM4. It seems so battle tested. If stability is your concern, why something newer?

Does anyone know if workstation grate computers/laptops still shit the bed? Very disappointed to see a family members 2018 Macbook pro shit the bed for no reason and the repair shop said it was unfixable like 2 years ago.

I even have a stockpile of ARM processors and memory modules available that I could use. Regarding large desktop PCs the only thing that could break down would be the processor or RAM. Defects on the motherboard or graphics card (aside from the chip itself) I may be able to fix. Same goes for Laptops.External hardware like blu ray drives or 3D printers are fixable
