Which one is the best if my main concern is the longevity and quality of the product? The oled version of the steam deck seems like the best pick but I feel it's dated. The legion go series is appealing with it's specs but I feel its lifespan and long-term quality would be worse.
Most PC games aren't meant to be played on a handheld, those you can play would likely be on PS Portal, Nintendo Switch 2 or the Xbox handheld.

>>108523928>main concern is the longevity>oled
>>108524009I would just run emulators, from soft games and some racers like forza
>>108524038The deck 2 will cost 1k and still not have this level of performance
OP here, I'm demented and forgot to clarify my usecase. I would use it for some light to medium gayming like in my post above. Also like a tablet/laptop hybrid for studying and casual PC use.
>>108524047What's the lifespan of such performant handhelds?
>>108524061Same as a laptop also it has a shit load of vram
>>108524093So which one would you recommend for about a thousand bucks?
>>108524110The ally or the Lenovo the deck is a meme
>>108524126Noted
>>108523928The thing you call a phone
dont buy a handheld now when next gen is so close. ps6,directx13,rubin,rdna5,ryzen 10000, etc its all 2 years from now.
>>108524047>>108524047Weight of such setup? looks lighter than new legion go 2 desu. Shame that amd apu is so expensive. Gpd win 5 is also nice but 7inch screen is too small. Prices of these things are joke
>>108524758like wii u tablet x2
>>108523928>maid computer thread
I'd try to find a used ROG Ally/Ally X, or Steam Deck. Maybe used versions of the newer devices but they're so freaking expensive, kinda not worth it. Otherwise I'd wait for the next generation, maybe the panther lake handhelds will save us but I doubt it.
>>108523928probably the steam deck.i think both asus and lenovo abandoned their older handhelds already, meaning that they wont receive driver updates (i think linux drivers are still getting updated tho)also, the rog ally z1e felt very, very fragile to me. i had 2, one of them came with the right trigger broken and the other one had a "wonky" joystick. had to rma both of them.
>>108526666Steam, Steam OS, Steam Deck. Valve did set their own ecosystem in gaming. Then Steam MachineValve could release a laptop and it could potentially not just beat, but execute other gaming laptop competitors (or even go pro, dethroning System 76)
