Do people really buy E-Readers so they can rent books, and have ads served to them as they read? Lol?

>>108526326Yes. And thank god they do. Remember, if we didn't have schmucks who paid for books, streaming services, and music, we wouldn't be able to pirate it.

>>108527727some Kobos just use an SD card for storage, not technically supposed to be upgradable but there's nothing stopping you from prying off the back and swapping them after moving the OS files over to the new card
>>108526326I got an Xteink X4 for reading old/free stuff from standard ebooks dot org. It takes some effort converting epubs to the xte format it uses, but it works well, fits in my pocket, and doesn't advertise to me. But if I ever decide to start reading newer books digitally, I'll probably get a Kobo or Kindle or something.
