This much UI customization is overkill imo. We are trading actual usability for a flashy impression, and we need to know exactly where to draw the line.
Anything to redirect Samsung's focus away from gargling whatever Apple is doing is a good thing, period.
>>108529643Looks like ass. Thank fuck for clean androids without some stupid UI on top.
>>108529643That is like 99% slop, it's fucking ugly.
>tech enthusiast board>the (I think) plurality-user UI shell in the entire world suddenly becomes much more customizable and power user-friendly>wtf this is gay
>>108529689I unironically think most cattle shouldn't be able to change the font on their devices because they always pick some shit like Comic Sans or a Handwritten script.
>>108529765I believe you're referring to choco cooky. I haven't seen anyone using it in the past several years, but it used to be possible. What's it to you what typeface other people use on their own personal phone? Do you just hate humanity and liberty or something?
>>108529795Because they inevitably show me text on their phone and I have to try and decifer their shit typography.I don't hate humanity or liberty, I hate bad design and shitty fonts.
>>108529643as i understand you don't have to customize itplease let me know if this helps
>>108529795>I haven't seen anyone using it in the past several yearsProbably because nobody uses androids anymore. iOS does not let you change any of the system fonts despite paying lip service to accessibility, they mostly see accessibility as a menu in which to hide basic features.
>>108529643very customizable but can you tweak the rounded borders?
>>108529643liquid ass slop
>>108529860reminded me of this

Honestly for years I've chosen Samshit for OneUI because they always have a little setting that I want whereas I can't find that shit anywhere else. For instance their Gaming Hub hides all games from the launcher itself and allows me to have a global quickly accessible mute button for all games. Good Lock has an application that does this per application as well.Does any other layer offer this right now? Did MIUI get better? Maybe Motorola? Also stability, I remember years ago having to think about weird shit on my phone update after update. I never think about this fucking phone. It works now the way it worked a year ago. I've never seen this thing actually crash. Before my S23 I had a Nothing Phone 1 and besides it having no settings (couldn't eventually even change the tacky bitmap fonts and resorted to use a custom ROM) it was a crashfest. And it had nothing (heh) because it was basic Android with 4 options on top. For fucks sake even their headphones (I had the Nothing Ear 2) had less connectivity issues on the samshit phone despite lacking the high res codec.
>>108531366No you don't have to customize it, and iirc they took away the ability to have a custom UI font. But you can't get rid of Samsung's skin, which they add useless features and change the UI to make sure you know you are using a Samsung. >>108530924>Installs custom ROM, it is unstable??? Do you mean launcher?
>>108531408No, I mean custom ROM. One of the things Nothing Phones have (or had?) was that it wasn't really difficult to install custom ROMs.Also the lack of stability was there on the stock ROM. I'm talking about applications crashing on the stock system before unlocking the bootloader here. All in all I was very fucking disappointed with the NP1.
>>108529765>>108529838>Nobody should be able to have their own hairstyle because some people have bad fashion sense and may get a haircut I don't like.
>>108530924its nice that samsung have included LC3 bluetoooth codec support since the s23 too. that's one of the two that supports near-zero latency audio playback which is essential for mobile gaymen. the only other android phones with it are a handful of xiaomis and the oneplus 13-15
>>108531458My issue is their headphones. I bought the Buds 3 Pro and while they're decent sound quality wise (with EQ that actually works) and much, much, much, much, MUCH better than my previous Ear 2 at phone calls and microphone quality overall (to the point I was able to fool someone into thinking I was at home while I was outside with a lot of noise going on) lack of multipoint support because they want to be really proprietary about it is some dogshit. I found it so annoying to keep pairing the headphones between devices I just gave up on it.
>>108531490I don't use their earbuds since I don't find them goodI'm rocking the wf-1000xm6 now EQ'd with lowered bass and it sounds really good. Zero latency is also an unexpected plus which I hadn't expected
