I'd start building macOS apps.
I came up with the idea of creating a music player that can handle any downloaded music from torrents and keeps everything properly organized. Even if the files have incorrect names weird folder structure, it will fix what’s necessary and correctly index all the files by record and artist.
I am surprised nobody vibe coded this yet, I guess most people listen to music via youtube music/spotify.

I basically wouldn't have to worry about having enough VRAM for a long time. I use an array of different 3D creation apps in my workflow which take up a lot of both RAM and VRAM, and with 16GB VRAM I do have to be mindful to not go over or else I risk either a significant degradation in performance or outright crashes.

With a 512GB Mac Studio where the memory is available to both the CPU and GPU at high bandwidth, I feel like I could just simultaneously open them all at the same time, use as many high res textures I want and bake all the physics simulations I want and not need to worry about running out. Limitless.

it could be cool to set up monitors throughtout my house all connected to the studio, with different purposes
>>
>>108536702
If you are a REAL 3d designer/artist you can afford it easily, it's only $10k.

512 on a mac is a huge waste. One would think you can run huge local LLMs, but no, it's too slow. You would literally had to be some kind of a guy trying to do bioweapons to invest in it like that. Or doing warez etc. It makes no sense otherwise.

> what are you doing with it?
Got a machine with 256. Maybe will mount some kind of RAM file system and compile stuff in there, instead of using SSD. Although performance increase is probably going to be marginal. But maybe less strain on SSD, idk.

Too slow for WAN, RTX 6000 is best for that still.

They're great for LLMs though! I have two clustered together to run the full 3.1 deepseek

I'd rent it out in units of 1GB to people who want to use it, maybe set up a service with a few people who know things I don't. Each unit would cost at least 50$ per hour of use. Ex. if you ran 4 units for 2 hours, you'd be charged at least 2*4*50$=400$. I think it's a pretty good way to make money. Only policy is that you are forbidden from using any of it for AI.

sell it. as an employed front end engineer i have no need to LARP at home with little crappy home servers.

That was literally a huge market during the MP3 player era. There were services where you gave it access to your directory and it would just sort and rename everything. If I remember right iTunes fell far behind until about one or two years before streaming took over. Everyone I knew was dumping their MP3s into iTunes to use genius whether they had an iPod or not.

Sell it. It's worth more these days than the POS faggotry virtue signaling unupgradeable paperweight in OP's post. How's your transitioning surgery going?
