98% compatibility up from 97% in December.
Windows keeps getting worse.
Why haven't (You) made the switch?
>>
tfw Linux has higher compatibility with Windows games than Windows itself

I did it 6 years ago.
Also, AMD GPUs for some reason work better on Linux, so you get free performance.

AMD doesn't handicap their OpenGL/Vulkan performance because they don't need to make CUDA look good.

>Vulkan on AMD beats CUDA on Nvidia beats Vulkan on Nvidia.
You can't convince me this shit isn't rigged by Nvidia.

I just don't care anymore there's nothing of value online might as well stick to an OS I'm comfortable with and just airgap it
>>
>>108539385
I'll take 100% compatibility without reliance on a background app that translates system calls
>>
>>108539401
You need to get into stuff that you like, not what's popular.
Getting into schizophrenic shit like Caves of Qud and Kenshi has revolutionized how I enjoy gaming. The only overlap with maintsteam gaming I've had in years is Stalker 2.

Not saying you should play those, but you need to find your own thing.

good one

>>108539409
Windows doesn't even have 100% compatibility, even among recent games as people have found Windows to have instability from install to install on 10 and 11. Your only other choice is 7 Pro 64-bit and good luck getting drivers that work for everything there. Not to mention the Proton translation layer pales in comparison to the amount of bloat and telemetry Linux cuts from Windows. Especially since the release of NT-Sync, Linux performance blows Windows out of the water.

No CoD
No FC
No fortnite

No thanks.

>no shit games
fuck, i may switch to linux.
>>
>>108539452
All of those are shit and no one should use them as a reason for sticking to one particular OS. The real answer is that Loonix is a pain in the ass to set up and maintain, so most people don't bother with it (and rightfully so).

How do i develop this mindset while i father two kids and continue to take on responsibilities at work
>>
>>108539462
>Zorin just werks
>Mint just werks, extra steps if you're an Nvidiot
>Both are stable with clear one-step upgrade instructions

Where's your argument?
>>
>>108539483
I also father two kids and work full time.
I learned not to care so much and leave competitive gamig behind.
I bought cheap or free well known games in a bunch of genres.
I liked platformers and collectathons when I was young, but found I like schizo games and indie horror these days.
I get one to two hours of gaming or programming in a day.

Sometimes I wish I could do more, but honestly this is enough to hold my attention and entertain me more than TV or other slop. Plus I'm t my downtime I can browse guides and forums for games or reference manuals and discussion boards for programming languages and software. Hobbies are fun when you don't have a middle manager breathing down your neck.

there's porn games on steam now.

>>108539385
Platinum barely works and anything below may as well be unsupported.
98% my ass.
>>
>>108541511
???
If installing Steam and Proton Plus is too difficult for you, honestly you shouldn't even be on Windows.
Stick to console at that point.

I'll hold on to Windows 10 IoT until support ends. By then, I hope Valve releases SteamOS because I trust their developers more than myself to configure my system.
>>
>>108539385
I don't want to pay for games
