Often their parent want to cash in and ignore the social aspect of their kid's development. When it comes to more regular people who are just very good (talented) at something, they are often overworked too much to care about geopolitics. While their manager gets the credit for commercial success achieved by the team carried by few. So it's again a social thing. They allowed others to treat them that way.
