I'm sorry zoomies, these devices won't cure your phone addiction
>>108547077zuma mentioned
>>108547078Works as well as alcoholic claiming he can carry the bottle without opening it
Was talking with a guy i met yesterday about that yesterday. He made me realise that there's people if you take their phones that would be the end of their lives since they're so on social networks. What a fucking gay jewish shit.
>>108547111What's so bad about it?
At least zoomers can admit theirs a problem. I know way too many millennials and older who are all too content to burn away their lives spending every waking hour not spent at work or asleep lying down scrolling whatever the facebook equivalent of tiktok is called.
>>108547133Boh. I love being free. I usually do off internet days. You could try,has been healthy for me. But if you're good with your addiction ,i don't really mind.
So far Mudita works best for me, no videos that can suck you in and browsing boring grey sitesCons: Google services don't work
>>108547077i really want an eInk device, but they are all so fucking overpricedfew times i sat down to pick one, i get overwhelmed by the selectionsFrom what i understand, the technology has gone backwards, first generations apparently had super bright displays super high contrast that literally looked like paper, but lacked backlight.>kindle gets backlightpeople start reporting that screen is now darker and text is deeper, like pixels and printed text now sits deeper and its not as comfortable to read anymore>kindle comes out with some paperwhite versionnow much higher resolution, brighter display, letters on surface never really came back, people still reporting first gen being most comfortable to read>color introductionvisual issues compound, in color mode sharpness of text is kind of ass, in black and white mode its okay but still a bit ass, though having color is a huge plus for non-book applicationsthere are also many other things like actual improvements, like localized refreshes and more LCD-like behavior which are welcomenot sure where its going but its going very expensive so far, only eink thing i have is this airtag keychain with a display, and i put my gfs nude ass on it
>>108547263These things make money of themselves, not of you. That's why they seem so overpriced>>108547156I'd love to as well, but even without my drviceik around people who's honest constantly beep or ping because mom MUST know about store sale, brother MUST know about Uber discount, nephew MUST know about recent class gossip on WhatsApp and so on
Are phones addicting, or are certain activities addicting? Funny how if I don't spend all day on some endless scrolling entertainment, I now have all this time to do other shit regardless of phone model. Things like getting addicted to tobacco again by smoking backwood blunts while I rip all my wife's DVDs (to watch on our phones lmao) and learning horticulture basics to setup our first veggie this year. I also want to figure out replacing my grass with a moss garden because grass is for geezers. I even do all this learning and running self host services from a 3" Jelly Star (2 years as my dd)! Yep, totally the phone model holding people back LMFAO
>>108547480They are designed to suck you in checked mail? Ok let me check Reddit or 4chan checked that,ok let me check YouTube , Instagram, checks let me check mail again JUST in case
>>108547322>These things make money of themselves, not of you. That's why they seem so overpricedAd-supported Kindles only knock $20 off the price.
>>108547263dont do that analysis paralysis autism for ereaders. I get my books from zlibrary, so I need epub support. So I boughted the kobo clara glo hd. It cost like $50 new at the time and I‘ve used it thousands of hours over the course of 5 years. If it breaks the one I’ll get is whatever‘s being sold near me used and supports koreader. You can get a serviceable one for $20 or so, no need to think so hard about it.
>>108547263cause its patented i believe if it makea you feel better i hear they die when exposed to any temperatures beyond whats considered "indoors"
>>108547077you never tried to cure your imageboard and discord addiction, let alone gaymen and ricing.
>>108548532not only that, the whole reason why colour epaper is being shilled so heavily is because that original black and white patent has long expired
>>108547845yeah i just use my iphone, plus ever since ChatGPT came out i get my reading entertainment from AI, really got no time to read books anymore >>108548532oh thats interesting havent heard that before
>>108547077i had high hopes about zoomers starting this analog/low tech trend but turns out it's all just more mindless consumerism shit there's no hope for these people
>>108547077I have the device in the middle, worked well but had to go back to a standard smarthphone because I literally cant use my back account without an app
>>108549897a lot of zoomies did end up ditching their smarthphone and social media/online accounts so you dont really hear about them
>>108550113you can live without blik, also banking can be done on devices you dont have to carry around
god i wish e-ink wasnt cucked by patents and i could get a 12 inch display with a decent enough refresh rate to use it as a linux laptop. there are devices that are pretty much there but they are so cost prohibitive. nothing is more comfy that sitting there on the beach or in a forest reading e-ink comfortably
>>108547077I have a couple of friends but no gf. If I had a gf I would probably spend less time on phone as it's my only way of coping with lonelyness
>>108550332go talk to them first
